his quote:: We describe what happened yesterday as a "partial victory." Never before has an anti-war movement been able to achieve a guaranteed spot of that size along the inaugural parade route, but it is a partial victory only because the National Park Service, representing the Interior Department, and working with a highly politicized Secret Service, used every imaginable method to block the public, including the anti-war public, from the other parts of Pennsylvania Ave. and sought to privatize in effect the rest of the inaugural parade route so that the Bush-Cheney Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC), which is a private fundraising entity, the exclusive use of Pennsylvania Ave. for Republican Party donors.

Is he (she) referring to the heightened security at the checkpoints which caused many of us to wait 2 hours to get in?

By that "logic" they (security) were suppressing pro-Bush support, as most of us huddled into that area on 7th and D were real Americans, not Moonbats.

Just one problem Brian ... ABC/Peter Jenings showed the whole world non-stop footage of your crowd at the Inaugural

BTW ...I have a question?

Why is it the Christian guys from the Philly Gay Parade are facing up to 47 years in jail for blocking the streets .. but these anti-american crowd get red carpet treatment from the press?

In connection with this, a query:

Yesterday on Sean Hannitty's show somebody mentioned that there were disruptive protestors near the podium and that they got there because they were given tickets by DumocRAT congresscritters.

Anybody know anything about this? I LOVE the idea of being able to nail DumocRATs for aiding and abetting the disruption of a national ceremony.

Gee, my questions which I submitted to him yesterday via the WAPO aren't printed? Hmm, I wonder why?

It wouldn't have been because I asked him to fess up on being a commie front group and getting funding from the Communist Party could it?!?

We had the WP guy with us almost all afternoon, and I searched their newspaper yesterday and their internet site today...we weren't mentioned more than a sentence.

This guy was with us for hours, and not one mention.

Apparently some guy got up and started booing during the Inaugural Address. The Capitol Police apparently grabbed him, and hauled him away, to the cheers of the crowd around him.

I was able to walk up and down the street for a large portion of the parade route. I saw many, many "Protestors."
They had just as much access as anyone else! Too much in my humble opinion as they came to intentionally disrupt things and spoil the event for the regular Joes and Janes.

Yeah, I noticed that C-Span held the cameras on them the whole time that the President's limo passed by. I was kinda hoping to see the President smile and wave at them. It would have driven them even more nuts than they already were! ;o)

Having been a teenager, then college student in the late 60's and 70's, the protesters sounded so stale and lame to me. It's like they don't have anything new to offer, just the same old, tired rhetoric.

Did you hear Sean Hannity on the radio yesterday? Caught a little of it on the way back home. He said they discovered that "a certain NY Senator and a certain California Senator" had distributed VIP tickets to several protestors from the "Pink" group? They are the ones who unrolled a sign in the FRONT seats at the Swearing In and got booed and escorted out by SS. Anyone catch the details of that?

Well I was there and saw and smelled plenty of them. Never have I seen so many dirty, mean nasty people in my life. And I do mean dirty. Next time I'm going to hand out little bars of soap. We gave them so much crap and laughed at them so badly that they put their signs away and shut up. Also, we were near 7th street when the anarchists tried to rush the security tent. The people in line crushed them. Their flags went down faster than confederate battle flags in front of the angle at Gettysburg. It was GREAT!!!

Handing out little bars of soap is actually a great idea. THey'll think that either they stink or they should wash their mouths out, or both. Either way, they'll feel slightly self-conscious. I like this idea very much. It's got a certain vile charm to it.

Got stuck with 4 kids at 7th and D. HA! I was so angry at the time, actually livid and almost hysterical, thinking, “This was MY day....I drove 800 miles to see this and now they have ruined it for me and many supporters who wanted to see the parade.”, (which was probably their intent). Why can't they corral these people a little better? The Democrats did a great job of fencing protestors at their convention last summer where as we're always so freepin’ nice, giving them free speech space, blah, blah, blah.

I was just so angry they had so much "access". I'll never get over being angry about that day. I wish I was big like RaceBannon so I could have punched some of them in the face. They ruined it! Jerks!

Oh, and welcome to FR. I was born in '68 too. :)

I saw a great sign on TV during the parade. It was obviously aimed at the protesters. It said:

YOU LOST
NOW, MOVE ON

Here is my Brian Becker post. My impression was that they rioted at the security posts so that ticket holders couldn't get in. The police had to close the gates because they were jumping over and pushing down barracades.

A friend of mine was showing people to seats with teenage help. Tickholders couldn't get in because of the "spontaneous demonstrations" (Becker's words, mine woud be riots)) at security points. She saw the demonstrators/rioters set a fire, and throw eggs and oranges as the President's car.
