What Issues Do You Wish That Bush Would Pursue?
CHRONWATCH.COM ^ | JANUARY 5, 2005 | JIM SPARKMAN

Posted on 01/04/2005 9:00:47 PM PST by CHARLITE

Sometimes you wonder if our elected officials know, or even care, which issues the voters think are important. Even Bush seems disconnected from the voter's wishes. Do you have real hot button issues that you think are going unaddressed?

For starters, many of us wish the administration would tell the UN they are a bloated bureacracy that does nothing to solve the world's problems. That should be followed by a declaration that they do not deserve our continued funding dollars. As it is, Kofi draws diplomatic praise from Bush.

Even more distressing is the almost desperate belief held by many of us that we need to do something to control immigration. And, that we need to do so for a number of reaons. Yet, the Bush response seems to be "very little, and very late."

In that vein, check out the poll in WorldNetDaily on this subject, and compare your wishes.

Frustrating.......

Bush should announce he is donating the entire U.S. share of UN dues to the tsunami relief effort.
And will no longer be giving any more money to the UN.

Illegal immigration indeed...

And how about not beating around the bush about wanting to overturn Roe v. Wade?

Reduction in government size and scope. But that would assume that conservatives wanted a smaller government rather than just fighting with liberals over which areas to grow the fastest.

My issues have been mentioned, particularly immigration, so I'll add leading a movement to put accurate history books in the classrooms, and straighten out college teacher training courses. When so much of the day is spent on saving the rain forest, global warming, and the (ahem) ever-important "traditions" of Kwanzaa, it's no wonder the kiddies aren't learning to read, write and do math.

Amen to PERMANENT Tax Reform, Conservative Judges, and Social Security restructuring. If he can get those things changed, he will have not only nullified a good chunk of the FDR legacy but moved us positively into the 21st century!

Unfortunately, I think that fighting terrorism and illegal alien problems will take more time, attention, and political capital. Worse than terrorists, however, will be fighting the Democrats to establish the national agenda. They're as amoral as the Iraqi insurgents.

What..No turture..(from Get Smart TV show)..actually..I like to buy into the myth of Bush hating liberals..we are going to destroy the environment, second hand smoke will kill us all (sadly..too many so called "gopers" go for that)..if we just talk nice to islamofacists..they will leave us alone..etc...sigh..it is time for bed..for me that is..
