It wasn't much of a protest, but it did turn heads.
The San Jose Mercury News reports Monday a recent weekend impromptu protest by an unidentified Apple employee's husband who demonstrated his furstration about the overtime hours he said his wife was required to work at Apple.
Michael Gough drove his car around the Apple main headquarter's parking lot in Cupertino, Calif. with a sign reading "KAPAO: Kids and Pets Against Overtime.'"
"I was driving around with two teenage boys and a dog,'' Mr. Gough told the Mercury News, "and we had a loudspeaker on the car and our basic message was, `We are kids and pets against overtime, and we're here to shout out a message of solidarity to all of you hardworking people at Apple Computer who are working long hours on the weekend during the holiday season.'"
Mr. Gough said as he drove through the parking area, a small crowd of Apple employeed could be seen clapping and cheering on his message.
Mr. Gough declined to name his wife. He said a security guard stopped his car.
I'm sure that Apple will eventually find this guys "wife" and ask what "her" husband is up to. The guy also has his own pathetic website. You can find it with a google search on KAPAO. Maybe the poor guy might think about earning a little bacon him self.
Truly, some silly people in this world.
And since everybody is as stupid as Mr. Gough, we will never know her identity.
On a side note, when did Apple begin using indentured servants who can not leave their employment for fear of reprisals?
Speaking as an ex-Apple employee, why don't they just quit? Most of the work done inside Apple is just like that of any other large corporation. Apple has all of it's "Think Different" slogans, just don't think too different from your boss. :-)
Why has'nt Apple shipped that American job to India yet?

Good point. Mr. Gough seems to have a few screws loose.
Uhm, there's probably a good reason the Mrs. works those long hours and stays away from home, eh?
What was she chanting? EXPORT HIS JOB, EXPORT HIS JOB.
Indeed. If my husband were such a loser, I'd welcome overtime.
I was just thinking - What would he do if Apple said: "Um, we haven't been making her work any overtime. She's been leaving at 5:00 every day - rather quickly, we might add."
All of 8 posts before we got to the truth ........:o)
Sorry honey my boss wants another 'conference' with me tonight.
Unbeknownst to Mr. Gough, his wife had been using this "overtime ruse" for 4 months now to steal away to the No-Tell Motel for some zesty hot monkey love sessions with the office supply boy, Carl, a recent community college graduate. The passionate afternoon romps between the sheets with her young lover were about to come to a screeching halt and Carl was too young and naive to realize the imminent danger he was facing...
Living in the Bay Area.. home of the Dot.Com Boom and the inevitable Dot.Com Bust, I know he's lucky to have a friggin' job.
After having three start-ups go under in my last four years - I'm happy to be working and earning a pay check again.
If you don't like it - quit and find something else.
Gee and to think I have contributed to this inhumanity. I bought an iMac a couple of months ago.
Hm. Do you suppose Mrs. Gough would RATHER work than go home to him?
In other news, several women in San Jose just REMEMBERED they have husbands who work at Apple.
If he and his wife are salaried, he's a clown. There is no such thing as "overtime" if that is the case. Granted, one may have to work long hours in order to compete with all the other salaried people. Boo hoo.

Could be. :) My guess is that she was completely embarrassed by his behaviour.
