SCHOOLGIRLS should be given contraceptive injections to cut teenage pregnancies, Margaret Hodge said yesterday.
The Minister for Children said new policies were needed to reduce the number of under-18s having babies.
And the idea of the injections was "really interesting" to the Government. She said: "You don't want them to have babies at that age. You do want children to be put off having sex at such a young age. You do want them to have appropriate contraceptives."
Injections would be targeted at girls with one child already.
But her idea caused fury. Norman Wells, of Family Education Trust, said: "No matter how much sex education they give, no matter how many contraceptives they make available, if children are having under-age sex and multiple partners they are vulnerable."
Paul Burstow, Liberal Democrat health spokesman, said: "Young people should be given the information and the support they need to discuss sex and relationships and to understand the dangers they face."
So I guess the whole "saving yourself for marriage" thingy is out?
I don't think abstinence has ever even seemed like a potential solution for the left.

That's because the Left starts from a premise that every teen will "do it anyway" because we are all a mass of instincts, with no ability to self-govern, no ability to think, and no conscience. We are, after all, just a monkey's uncle.....
The one "contraceptive program" that works 100% of the time is abstinence, but the liberals won't even discuss the idea preferring instead to drug school girls.
That such an obvious solution to teen pregnancy is so readily dismissed can only be attributed to the radical left's 1960's style ideology -- or stupidity.

The folklore had it that in Soviet army they used to add potassium bromide (?) to the salt in army food to diminish the libidos of 18-20yrs old conscripts.

I would support this with STRICT parental support.
If your daughter wants to be a hose bag and you approve of her expression, then by all means chemically freeze her tubes.
If she conceives, let her give the child up for adoption. At 16, her belly will recover nicely.

Well you'd HOPE they'd have a problem with this, but there are other rights for which they seem to have little regard, so they could probably go either way.

Somehow methinks somebody is headed in the wrong direction...
We should look at Kosovo as a template for the rest of Europe. Over a century ago the majority population there was Serbian. In a century they were out-bred by the Albanians. The same is true throughout the Balkans where the Muslim Albanians have settled. They are the fastest growing segment of the population, including Italy.
The lesson is simple, breed or die.
