Here they come, folks. I predict it wont be long before pictures start appearing in the press of democrats walking from places of worship with Bible in hand and clearly seen. Much like Cllinton after the Monica scandal.
I posted here on October 7th, 2004, in a thread titled "What its all about" the following (see if it sounds familiar): that we should keep focused (those who are Christians) on doing the Lords work of feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, visiting those in prision, and spreading the gospel.
A few weeks later Sen Kerry is quoted saying nearly the same thing. This week, Bill Blythe (aka Clinton) said "We should use Scripture to fight poverty like they use Scripture to fight abortion"
Could be coincidence? But it makes me wonder.... Lord what have I done? Well if so its just another example of the power of FR and the new media.
The DNC Ministry of Truth is working overtime. The strategy appears to be two-fold: (1) Shame the naughty jihadist Christians and (2) "reinvent Scripture" after step 1 is complete, of course, to reflect American Way or Move On objectvies.
This should be combatted, IMHO, by simply making it abundantly and loudly clear that rejection is not hate. To ask the government to approve of your behavior is certainly a big deal. The people have decided in 11 states that they "do not approve". To the casual observer, however, you would think a measure to arrest gays and deport them had been on the ballot..
Secondly, it should be combatted by Christians simply doing what Jesus said. Thousands and thousands of chruches have church kitchens but they are only used to feed ourselves on Wednesday suppers or for church events. I say this is a crime against God. "If you do this unto the least of these it is the same as if you had done it unto me". Like the rich man who ignores the poor beggar atthe gate, we ignore the need in our community or one day a year contribute 2 old cans of beans to a food drive. We should certainly be ashamed of that.
Open up the kitchens! If people are dirty, build showers! If security is a probem, hire officers! But can we please get busy doing Gods work? How can a hungry person hear the gospel over the rumblings of their stomachs?
When people see a church today, they do not see a place where the can get help. They see a place where well dresssed people "attend". We need to change this perception and this reality!.
Churches that truly represent God should be ready and able to clothe those who need clothing as well.
So Blythe/Clinton is right, we need to abide by the Scripture.
I expect to see all the top DemOcrats spoting Amish syle beards -- Kerry, Edwards, Pelosi and Hillary.

Believers have been quietly abiding in His commands regarding the poor, hungry, naked, sick, imprisoned, etc. since long before the "social gospel liberals" have, and we will be doing it long after they get tired of their striving. The reason for this can be found in their underlying motivation.
And be ready to watch top Dems glow at progress made in Iraq as things calm there over the next 2 years. Why, they'll be so excited about it, that you might just think it was their idea! Without ANY doubt, it will be Hillary's position. She's got to get the military types to believe she could lead. I hope they pay attention. And we'll all be right here to help...
Yep I wonder how the democrats are intending to quite the God hating majority in their party.

Jesus did not advocate the government TAKING from people for its own purposes, even if that includes "helping the poor."

Jesus always met the physical needs of his followers before He introduced their need for a Savior (Himself). To be like Christ in our actions involves us to reach out because we care, not because it is "required". The democrats won't reach out personally because they would have to open up their hearts to do so or worse, open up their pocket books. Christ spoke often about the parables involving money and none were on "how to grow your money market accounts" either!
And people want to know what the secret to happiness is, it is found in helping others. The giver always recieves more joy than the reciever. Which is why our Heavenly Father will be even more joyous than we are when He gives us blessings in Heaven (should we merit any.) I'm trying to dedicate the remainder of my life to making God positively jubilant on that day.
It will be fun watching them try to pull this off.
