It is likely that some of you are rejoicing at the election results. As the parent of a 14-year-old son, I am filled with fear and trepidation at the results of yesterday's election. Americans have proven that they prefer as their president a deserter to one who volunteered, served his time and chose to exercise his first amendment rights when he returned to the "land of the free". They have said that pre-emptive strikes are the new way to go - that might DOES make right. They have adopted the cheerleader mentality. "Yea, yea, we are great! Give us war and hate, hate, hate!" Can't you hear Bush laughing all the way to the bank?
They have said, "We want an ultraconservative jerk to choose our next supreme court justices. Who cares about minorities anyway?" Ahhh, isn't it easy to forget that our forefathers (and mothers) were all minorities when they landed on these shores?
The slight majority of voting Americans has fueled a machine similar to the one which worked so well in Germany in the years leading up to, and during, World War II. How long will it take for them to see the intentions of this administration? Do they really think that the German people saw the evil they condoned?
Today, as my heart bleeds and my soul weeps, it has been hard to go on with the day. My consolation has been in teaching. Today we continued our study of the Bill of Rights. Maybe, by teaching my 4 kindergartners, 2 first graders, 1 second grader, and 5 third graders about their constitutional rights, I can instill in them a sense of what freedom can mean. Then, when these freedoms are gone, they will have memories of what has been and find the desire and strength to fight again for "freedom and justice for all".
Love to all,
(name of the lib)
It's hard to turn little kids into abortion rights activists, but I'm sure this guy will try his best.
Are you observing a "no gloat" rule?
But we pay her to teach our children about the right way to think about politics, it seems.
What a creepy way to think!
there is no such thing as a "silly lib"
These people are now very close to being considered as "true enemies" whose sole intent is the destruction of America.
I will not allow todays veterans to go through what I did back in the 70's when I returned from VN.
I wish these people would move to china. Then they could see first hand how their socailist communistic hell really is.
And where is the "freedom and justice for all" for the aborted babies? Oh, I forgot, they don't count - they aren't human until their born. Don't even give me that "bleeding heart" crap, cuz you don't have one!
Is this guy actually comparing W to Hitler? Talk about unhinged......!!!! BTW, he won with a large percentage than either JFK or Jimmy Carter.....
I think someone should put this poor sop out of her misery.
>Who cares about minorities anyway?"
Are they intentionally shutting thier eyes or has Condi Rice and Colin Powell turned white all of a sudden? Not to mention the new Mexican National Security Advisor!? And FEMALE Education Secretary? I don't get it.
This is the last person who should be teaching about the Bill of Rights.
Liberals think the Constitution should bend with whatever idea is in vogue.
It looks like we have a bleeding heart liberal here.
What a disgraceful era. There were millions of us that held you in the greatest respect; the warriors of our generation. Perhaps we were not sufficiently demonstrative. Perhaps we were not sufficiently represented.
In any event, the final battle of the VN war has been won by the Swifties and supporters.
Thank you and your brothers in arms for your service to our country.
One room school house?
Want to feel safe lady?
Take a stroll in Central Park tonight.
P.S. Be sure to make out your will first.
Ummmmm, ahhhhhhh.
...Oliphant?
"Sorry you are having such a hard time adjusting. Let's go target shooting to relieve some of the tension. I'll loan you my special left hand target pistol."
Well, one problem is that she can't seem to fathom the existence of an 'untraconservative' minority. :-)
Second, she considers Bush an ultraconservative, which he has never been.
Third, I am always amused when folks bring up ancestors when discussing immigration policy. I always tell them point blank that if they knew my ancestors, they wouldn't want them in the country, either! My ancestors have many people who, if it was left up to me, I wouldn't have allowed in the good old USA. This really confounds them when I share it! :-)
