A prominent Beijing house-church leader, found in possession of a massive cache of Bibles and Christian literature, faces a harsh sentence if convicted in his upcoming trial, according to Chinese contacts of the U.S. activist group Voice of the Martyrs.
Cai Zhuohua, 32, the leading minister to six house churches in Beijing, will be tried formally in court in the Chinese capital any day now, the Oklahoma-based group said.

I know that's what a lot of folks argue. And I hope their prediction turns out that way -- that the fascist government which is currently spending the considerable hunk it skims off the top on nukes pointed at the USA, will ultimately topple to capitalism. However, lots of capitalism does not necessarily equate to a "good" government. Witness Singapore, a mighty capitalistic hub in Asia, in which all the news is good because criticism of government is verboten.
I think the opposite...I like buying Chinese because perhaps it is supporting some of those underground Christian families.
And, their stuff is better quality. Clothes still are sewn the quality way, and it shows in the tailoring. There's alot of hand-work done on other things I've seen, and I like that personal touch and extra detail, rather than all mechanized minimalization. Even last week I was pleased with my new can opener being so good for a change, turned it over, and Made in China. Reminds me to pray for them!
Well, going to Wal Mart must be like a trip to Jerusalem for you :-)
I highly recommend his inspired treatise, The Normal Christian Life.
The leak of the information out of China is the only thing unusual about this case. There will be an uproar and they may go easy on him as a result. They still like those American dollars, they have not gotten to where they are comfortable trying to be self sufficient. Yet.

Actually, Nee is not a scholar nor Reformed, and has some very errant theology, so you must be careful. Test all things by Scripture, as the "noble Bereans" did in Acts 17. Christians can interpret it wrong, so when you get red flags about an author, find out why. Is it just that the other person doesn't "like" his views? Or are the points made against an author accurate. You can find some good stuff on him on the net, at various internet sources.
So many authors, so little time, so pick the best authors now. Otherwise you have to unlearn all these pop books later.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE,
READ:
THE HEAVENLY MAN
Pastor Yun's autobiography with inputs from fellow prisoners and his long suffering wife.
One of best 5-10--most moving books of my 57 years.
I do, however, take your correction that he was not "reformed."
I have very mixed feelings.
Not buying Chinese products will not sway them. SOME publicity--lots--will sometimes sway them for a period of time, until the heat's off.
In terms of economics and buying their products--they would do what they want to do in terms of authoritarian tyranny even if they starved 600,000,000 or more of their population as long as they could keep buldozing graves and avoid mass demonstrations by virtue of control of the military.
Given that the military gets the best goods and perks etc. and given the lessons they learned from the democracy demonstrations--they smugly feel they can get away with tons of tyranny with impunity. And mostly, they are correct. God will pull the plug on them at some point.
The praying humble, dedicated, authentic Christians will win out eventually. But probably not before God uses China to exact serious punishment, judgment, discipline on the USA.
It will be interesting to see how the satanic world leader will relate to China and they him.
AMEN.
You'd likely find THE HEAVENLY MAN very, very moving.
One spits out the bones from any writing but Scripture, more or less.
Nee is plenty orthodox to learn Scriptural things from, for me.
His humility alone is worth reading him for.
YES!
AND they can read with Holy Spirit's exhortations about what they are reading instead of the knee-JERKY naysayer's diatribes and whines.
"Well, going to Wal Mart must be like a trip to Jerusalem for you :-) "
haha If I could even afford the 99-cent store I'd be thrilled!
I was interested in your assessments of Pastor Yun, and Watchman Nee. Both were persecuted for their faith and determined stand for Christ..I have read several of Nee's books in the past, and I understand that some critics believe that some of his later works were not his own. I don't know about that, but I do know that the man had a powerful testimony in the face of extreme persecution. I have more recently read "Heavenly Man", and I found it difficult to put down. I thought I had some opposition, but I was mistaken-mine was nothing, compared to his, or Nee's
and I was challenged and encouraged in my own life by their examples. One needs only to read their biographies, and allow the Spirit of God to impress you with what you need most to "hear" from these two lives. These two do not stand alone, but others like them are experiencing extreme persecution today.
Agreed.
The naysayers seem to know little and care for less.
But the rubber meets the road in the midst of persecution.
I've known such saints there. It was a huge honor to meet and know them.
Witness Lee, Nee's 'protoge' ended up perverting Nee's teachings and Christianity, fairly wholesale, I think.
I attended one of their churches in Spokane as a boss invited me. Every song; leaflet, study guide, lesson booklet and even the Biblical 'translation' used were ALL by Witness Lee. No thanks!
God has always chosen to work through flawed characters such as us.
I shrudder to think the return on their 'investment' a LOT of judgmental folks are storing up for themselves.
Of course we should speak out against error etc. But a LOT of the hostility and venom hereon is nothing less than satanic against a lot of way above average Godly men.
Thanks for your comments.
