I'm new to the Free republic forums and I need to ask a silly question.
1. What does PING, BUMP, IMHO, and BTTT stand for?? 2. PING list, adding ppl or getting added to one?
I've been seeing these and I have no idea what they are. I'm usually pretty good at figuring these things out but these are escaping me for some reason.

Welcome...here's my feeble attempt at explaing. PING means you've contacted other FReepers to come, look and see...think of it like a phone call.
BUMP means you think what you're reading is worthy of others seeing and by responding, it will be "bumped" to the top of the topics list for others to see.
BTTT - pretty much the same thing as a bump...bump to the top.
IMHO..."in my humble opinion."
There are lists of these abbreviations...some other FReeper may have ready access to them for you. Hope this helps.

Ping is a way to let people know when a certain subject of mutual interest is posted. BUMP takes a thread to that person's "comment" section for a later read. BTTT means "bump to the top" and is used to keep threads of high interest to the top of the list, giving more people to read it.
