A plea from DownUnder
Me | 2 November 2004 | Aussie Dasher

Posted on 11/02/2004 2:31:36 AM PST by Aussie Dasher

Friends,

Pardon the vanity post - but it is election day.

Right now, I feel sick. I am sick at the prospect of a two-faced shonk called John Kerry winning leadership of the Free World.

I'm sick that here I am on the other side of the Pacific Ocean and can do precious little to stop him.

My nausea is eased by the knowledge that there are thousands of Americans, good men and women such as yourselves, who are rugging up and preparing to fight the good fight one last day. It comforts me to know that you realize that, for this election, THERE IS NO TOMORROW.

My confidence is boosted by the leadership shown by President Bush over the past four years, and the recognition I fully expect him to receive at the ballot box.

My prayers are directed to you all. On your shoulders sits the responsibility of ensuring that the enemies of freedom - terrorists, abortionists, the liberal left - are defeated. The only thing standing between them and victory is you and President Bush.

As you go about your duties this election day, please remember you are electing more than the President of the United States. You are electing somebody who will decide if Western civilization will survive. There are millions of people around the world who don't have a vote in this election, but who are as dependent on its result as you are. We are all relying on you to ensure that President George. W. Bush is returned for another term. There is a lot riding on this election: EVERYTHING is riding on this election.

I know you won't let us - or yourselves - down.

God bless you all and God bless President Bush, and the United States of America.

GO GET 'EM!!!!!!!

I don't think we'll be letting you down. I believe we'll come through for us, for you, and even the part of the world which is still too clueless to know that having George W. Bush as President of the United States is really in their best interest.

You have nothing to worry about, WE ARE GOING TO TAKE CARE OF BUSINESS, there is no election but this election, and the Conservatives are energized.

George W Bush will be reelected!

Unfortunately, my vote doesn't mean a whole lot more than yours, coming in the great utopian socialist state of New York. However, don't worry. Confidence is high! President George W. Bush is going to win this thing. Hang in there, downunder...

We need to know what a "shonk" is. That's not a word we have up here, but it looks like it's one we Freepers could put to good use. So what's a shonk?

Have no fear, God is in charge. Whatever happens will be in His hands.

If it does comfort you further, however, the poll being conducted by Flylady on her Yahoo site still shows Bush up 63/36. It's been like this since Sunday afternoon!

Awesome to know that not all hate us! Thanks for the post - last time I checked Katie Couric said everyone hates us. So much for that. Is 'shonk' meaning in the same context as 'wanker'? :)

You're damn right, and if we lose, I promise you the same global leftist forces that decry us will slowly become depressed as they realize the significance. We won't gain any respect by electing Kerry.

I'm gaining great strength from your confidence! Thank you. It's now approaching 10pm Tuesday night. God knows how I'm going to sleep tonight!

Nick: A shonk is a shyster. A conman. Someone who is as genuine as a three dollar bill. In other words, JOHN KERRY.

Aussie: A lot of people here feel as you do, and we will certainly vote. I also have a fear in the bottom of my stomach like you describe.
It is quite unfortunate that The USA has gotton to this point.
I feel very close to yourCountry. I went on a cruise a few years ago and met some people from Australia and they were like our own people here in Alabama and as you impress me.
Long live Australia.
I am working as a Republican Poll Watcher. I don't expect to see much out of the way but I did catch the democrats trying to steal teh election a few years ago when we had a referrendrum for a proposed dog track (gambling). I feel that I personally thwarted the dog track in our county of Alabama.

A "shonk" is a slang term usually meaning a dishonest or unreliable businessman.

I'd like to offer more positive vibes from Australia; I truly hope for Bush's victory today!

The world does not need a well groomed French poodle as US President during these tense times; I fear he will be more of a Chamberlain than a Churchill when it comes to the crunch.

I visited Alabama a few years ago. It's a lovely part of the world, and the people are delightful.
