THe leftists are dangerous people. They don't believe in freedom of speech. My sister in law's van was vandalized today at her college and her Bush stickers all torn off. If you ever wondered where Bolsheviks come from you don't have to look far, it could happen again.

Jail time is doubtful. You can violently assault someone doing real and painful harm and escape jail on a 1st offense. The chances of this being more than a slap on the wrist are virtually nil..

I enjoyed Coulter's comments about the pie incident during an interview the day after on Sean Hannity's radio show. She said, to the stuttering dismay of Hannity, that it was time for Conservatives to stop taking this kind of abuse and start wielding baseball bats. Good idea. I wouldn't grieve at all over some Liberal's broken bones.

You obviously missed Ann Coulter's response about the incident the next day on Hannity's radio show.
As to Bill Gates, he is a Leftist coward and should never be defended on this site.

Here is the thread of emails that have been going back and forth between me and 'Al Pieda'.
My original email:
You should be ashamed of yourselves. Not just for throwing a pie at Ann Coulter (who, by the way, is allowed to say anything she wants to whenever she wants to), but for your tasteless use of the name 'Al Pieda'. I see that this is a play-on-words, and ordinarily I would think this was very clever. But Al Qaeda is not a laughing matter. Thousands of U.S. and international families lost members due to Al Qaeda's actions and by comparing yourselves with them, you are (intentionally or not) drawing comparisons of yourselves with the most hateful, evil group of people to materialize in the past fifty years. It is not funny. And your use of this name and your attempt to make it a joke just goes to show that you liberals still (unbelieveably) don't get it. You have apparently entirely forgotten what happened on September 11th. Shame on you. I hope you'll be able to tell your children about what happened three years ago and then proceed to tell them that you were able to make jokes about it before the dust was barely settled. September 11th is not open to mockery and humor. Not yet. Perhaps not ever.
Al Pieda's reply:
Sorry you don't share our sense of humor. We think most everything should be joked about. After all, in a world where throwing a pie can be called assualt while bombed civilians can be called collateral damage, humor is the only way we stay sane. Additionally, by mocking the name of what you call "the most hateful, evil group of people to materialize in the past fifty years" we wanted to draw attention to the fact that no Al Qaeda agents have been found in Iraq and Bin Laden has been forgotten (until the tape a couple days ago), but the words "Al Qaeda" and "war on terror" are used daily to justify murderous foreign policy and an attack on civil liberties domestically. You write that "the dust is barely settled" with regard to September 11th, but already torture at Abu Gahrib and the bombing of Fallujah are considered old news. If only America's collective memory were as strong and clear regarding its own transgressions as it is regarding offenses committed against it. Thanks for your input. My reply (I was too angry to type anything else):
What civil liberties of yours are being attacked? And you can't possibly compare September 11th with the abuse at Abu Ghraib. I hope that was a joke.
Al Pieda's reply:
The misnamed PATRIOT Act takes apart significant parts of the 1st and 4th ammendments. Why can't I compare Abu Ghraib with September 11th? Yes, the number of people killed on September 11th was much greater than the number killed and abused by Americans in Iraqi prisons. However, the barbarity of the crimes and the psychological impact on the immediate victims and the entire nations of America and Iraq respectively must be similar. It's not important that we focus on Abu Ghraib though. The American military has spent the last decades killing civilians around the world in numbers that dwarf September 11th. Iran, Lebanon, Guatemala, Grenada, Panama, Afghanistan, Iraq - these are just a few of the many places where the US has intervened on the side of oppression rather than freedom and slaughtered innocents while pursuing crass economic and strategic goals. My reply (I can't let him have the last word--this could go on for days):
Right. America is a horrible, mean country. The American military is cruel and murderous. Tell that to the Jews we freed in WWII. Tell that to the people living in Northern France during the same war. Tell that to the Afghani citizens who just voted. Yes, America is the most powerful nation in the world, has been for some time, and will likely remain as such. But America has never sponsored purposeful murdering of the innocent civilians of any country. Collateral deaths happen--they are a given of war. But to say that America wanted to kill these people, and to assume that we wouldn't have done everything we could do to evacuate innocent men, women, and children without compromising the mission is irresponsible. War is not pretty. People die during war--innocent people and guilty people. But the primary concern of the United States is (and should be) the United States. As Charles DeGaulle once noted, "Nations dont have friends, they have interests". We are not here to make friends and hold the hands of the world. If we feel like our nation or troops are threatened (again), we will attack, whether or not the rest of the world will get mad at us. We should not wait for them to attack us. And if we can eliminate the threat with pre-emptive strikes that may or may not cause collateral damage, then that is what must be done. The future of our nation exceeds the importance of the future of any other nation and every American citizen should feel that way. Once we feel that our nation is secure, then we can go about helping other nations of the world achieve democracy and liberty. And that is what we have done and continue to do. With great power comes great responsibility. And we have the responsibility to spread the freedom that we in the United States tend to take for granted.
