KATHERINE HARRIS rally in Venice, Florida! (Yet another of my grafix-intensive threads! $:-)

As has become a local tradition of sorts, the Republican Club of South Sarasota county (Venice, Florida, specifically), held yet another inspiring, upbeat and well-attended rally in front of our campaign HQ at 250 Tamiami Trail (business Highway 41). The focus of these were, as usual, to publicly show our support of incumbant President George Bush, our Congresswoman, Katherine Harris, and Senatorial hopeful Mel Martinez.

Special interest was generated this fine, sunny, southwest Florida day by the fact that Katherine Harris was in town to dedicate the reopening of the south (or "circus") bridge over the Intracostal Waterway, and after those festivities were done, she dropped in to greet her supporters on the street. Since a lefty whacko made an inept attempt on her life several days ago, security was definitely tighter (I warned her to stay close to trees $:-), but that didn't deter Ms. Harris from mixing freely with the crowd and being, as always, the warm, people-person that she is.

A great time was had by all, a great deal of support was seen from the motorists passing by this beautiful Saturday afternoon, and we are very hopeful of yet another BIG SWEEP on election day! It won't be long now!

This pcitures-thread will be a bit different from the others I've posted, with an emphasis on the individuals who make up our happy and dedicated crew. So, without further ado, here’s the pix!

RCSSC president, being his usual, reserved self. $:-)

Now compare the happy faces of our gals with the dour, frumpy curmudgeons who comprise the Kerry-supporters. It's like night and day! Of course, if we had such a poor choice of candidates like the sorry dems do, we'd probably be rather unhappy too!

FOUR MORE YEARS!

This guy and gal just dropped in after lunch and joined the rally. A crowd attracts a crowd!

Even Santa supports our President! How can we lose? $;-)

Yet another happy, flag-waving Republican patriot.

A proud grandma and her grandkids, showing their support!

Myself and the incredible Ms. Harris. This is the first time I've ever had my pic taken with a celebrity. Honest!

Katherine greets her supporters.

Some veterans give Katherine a t-shirt. A bit warm to be wearing black, though... !

The view looking south. Not a good picture, really -- we had about sixty people there when Katherine arrived.

A Vietnam vet with his sign: "Kerry Stole Our Honor". Says it all.

Our future looks bright with beautiful kids like this up-and-coming.

Another shot of Katherine with her supporters.

Katherine and a proud, GOP patriot.

Since the unfortunate incident with the Cadillac-driving nutcase in Sarasota several days ago, the police had a unit standing by for Ms. Harris' appearance. Hey, I thought us right-wing extremists were supposed to be the violent ones!

These three boys rode up on bikes and joined the party -- I dont' know if they knew anyone else there or not. The kid in the middle was yelling "Botox is poison!" I was laughing out loud -- you know, he's right! $:-)

GOP gals!

The family that rallies together, stays together!

Even a bum knee doesn't keep a true patriot down.

So there you have it, folks. Yet another excellent rally in the bag! Election day is only a couple of short days away. I'm sure everyone reading this has already voted, but if you know anyone who has not, get on them to get out there and do their duty! The rights they save will be their own!

frumpy curmudgeons who comprise the Kerry-supporters.

Whoa now buddy! It's only the dumb ass wing of the Curmudgeons Union that supports Kerry.

The rest of us are 100% George W. Bush.

In any case, great pictures.

Even a bum knee doesn't keep a true patriot down.

Hell yeah! My WW2 vet father tore all 3 ligaments in his knee, ACL, MCL and whatever the other one is but we wheeled him up to vote in '02 in TN. He wanted to waited in line like everone else, but the people insisted he go to the front. He's back walking two miles a day 2 years later, and you can guess what he thinks of Kerry.

Thanks Joe, beautiful set of photos from a beautiful area
with some beautiful people.
You are right about the opposition being a bunch of sour and angry people. Due to a serious work injury I have been
going to physical therapy in Sarasota, the people that work
there are your typical Birkenstock wearing socialist.
Once while there I was wearing one of my NamVet logo t-shirts and this bunch started in on me about Pres. Bush. I
firmly stood up for the President, but I know how much they
hate Congressperson Harris, so I made sure to refer to her
as a great American Hero! They went ballistic!
Funny tho, after that my therapy sessions went from about
an hour and a half, down to about 45 minutes. LMAO!

If you search for images of Kerry supporters and look at them you see a dramatic difference in most circumstances to the images in this thread and other images of Bush supporters.

It's a dramatic thing. But a simple thing. One simple thing. A SMILE.

Just about every picture I could find of Kerry supporters shows them as unhappy. They show few if any smiles and in some circumstances their faces are all scrunched up in anger or they are screaming something. A lot of photos of people behind Kerry at rallys show people that look like they are either bored or hired help.

The people I know on the left all seem to be so negative about everything. The ones I know that are wealthy and support Kerry (enherited money in all circumstances) are all "bummed out" people. They have money but no joy in life. What's really strange is that Kerry is going to tax the hell out of them and they still support him. Weird.

Sad, unsmiling, depressed and mad. What a sucky way to go through life.

Thanks! Great post and pics!

Gotta love Katherine Harris! :^D

To ALL Freepers and Lurker voters:

GO to the polls and vote for Bush. Take your friends with you to do the same. If you know any Zell Miller type Democrats that support Bush and they are voting for him, take them as well.

Vote EARLY to avoid the rush, and remember:

IGNORE ANYTHING IN THE MEDIA YOU HEAR (i.e., making a fast, early call in Florida for Kerry, etc.). WE CAN AVOID A REPEAT OF THE FLORIDA ELECTION DEBACLE OF 2000 THIS YEAR IF GOP TURNOUT IS STRONG, imho.

I have a similar story from my family...my oldest daughter was injured in a traffic accident last weekend; she spent a couple of days in the hospital and is on bed rest for the next three weeks. She's in a lot of discomfort and taking strong pain medications; but one of the first things she requested after leaving the hospital was an absentee ballot--and she lives in a state that Bush will carry by 15-20 points. After the accident, my wife flew down to care for our daughter and granddaughter. When she arrived, she immediately asked for an absentee ballot from our homestate, Ohio. Needless to say, I'm very proud of my daughter and my wife. That's the kind of effort (and attitude) we need to carry us through on election day....
