Poll Shows Public Questions Media
Texas Media Watch ^ | October 25, 2004

The latest survey released by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press shows half of all voters believe reporters and journalists want Sen. John Kerry to win the presidential election. Only 22 percent believe the media are pulling for President Bush. See Pew Center Survey

And almost 40 percent of voters believe press coverage of Bush has been unfair, while just under 30 percent think Kerry has gotten unfair coverage.

Polls increasingly find that voters choose their news sources based on their political point of view. The Pew Survey found that Bush supporters prefer Fox News by a ratio of three to one and Kerry supporters turn to CNN at almost the same rate. Half of all Kerry supporters say they get their political news from their local newspaper, while only 40 percent of Bush supporters say they turn to the local paper for political news.

That sounds reasonable . . .

The other question on this poll is: ''What colour is that yellow shirt you're wearing?''

I get my news right here! By the time I see it on TV or read it in the paper, it's "old news."

America has awakened from the media-induced slumber. But will it change anything?

And you know something, Fox is not in the tank for Bush either but at least Brit and the other news people are fair.

Best line I head the other day from Dennis Miller when some biatch from Slate was whining about fox being 24/7 for Bush:

"...Yes but Dan Rather would take a bullet for Kerry"

This only shows that the other half of "all voters" are delusional.

Well, the electorate is tied 50/50 so half would make sense. Bush people know the press is lying. Kerry people think that the media is fair. Go figure.

Shows me the Bush people are more intelligent.

. . . 22 percent believe the media are pulling for President Bush.

Proof that there is a negative tail on every bell curve. Or, you can fool some of the people all of the time.

It looks like they found that 300% more people get their election news from the internet this time than last election,

Hard to tell what their figures mean, but the ones saying they do are about three times as many as last election.

questionaire

"America has awakened from the media-induced slumber. But will it change anything?"

This morning Katie Kouric actually challenged (somewhat) Kerry's guarantee of national security from terrorists if he's elected. Even the MSM has gotten a little embarassed by its partisanship. If they perceive they're losing ratings because of their pandering to Democrats, they might try to be less obvious. I don't get any news from the MSM any longer-with or without the partisanship, I'm too angry to give them any credibility or credit no matter what they do. They never be fair, they'll just learn to lie more carefully.

If only half believes the media wants Kerry to win then the other half is retarded, ignorant, stupid or a combination of all three.

We went to a dinner party with a few friends and around the table I raised several YES or NO questions:

1) Have you heard about the SwiftVets for Truth?
2) Have you heard about the CBS Memogate scandal?
3) Do you know who Sandy Berger is, and what he's accused of doing?
(etc. etc...)

I was amazed at the blank looks I got! They had no clue! Of course, their news source was the MSM, particulary TV. I was disheartened!
