Ted Nugent, George P Bush: GOP Ad Ideas (Please contribute yours)
Conservatrix

Posted on 10/16/2004 3:10:12 AM PDT by Conservatrix

I have been thinking long and hard about the final weeks of the campaign. Why hasn't the GOP made better use of some of its more colorful characters, such as Ted Nugent and George P Bush? Nugent would make a very funny, pro-Bush commerical. I could see a scene in the woods where Nugent is crawling around, hunting on his belly (maybe ripping his shirt or something) and saying something like "Only fools like Kerry think this is the way to kill a deer. Vote for a real man: George W Bush. " Something like that. Then of course George P. Bush is so drop-dead gorgeous, just having him endorse his uncle and maybe lilt a little in his "Spanglish" would make a nice ad during the day for the soap-opera heads. An even funnier idea would be to have the long-haired Nugent meeting the clean-cut and gorgeous ""P at his ranch, and Nugent handing P a pile, saying "Need some wood?"

Anyway, I'd love to hear of other add ideas. If you guys know how to forward this to the right people at the GOP, I would be glad to see mine or any body else's ideas some to reality.

How about getting Nugent to do a commercial that the NRA supports Bush. I'm very serious. The union vote could be persuaded by it.

You must have missed Arnold and Rudy at the GOP convention.

The focus is not humor right now...it is the war on terror and who is fit to command. Note that the SwiftVet ads are the most effective of the season. They deliver the right message. Rodney Dangerfield (RIP) isn't the way to go when highlighting the differences between Bush and sKerry.

That being said, I'd seriously consider it funny if Jimmy Swaggart did an ad claiming that Edwards was stealing his act (everyone gets healed if Kerry is elected).

An ad showing Kerry and Edwards doing their continuous groping and hugging of each other on the campaign trail...followed by Mary Cheney asking if the Johns were born that way or if it was a choice would also be amusing.

However, it would detract from Bush's strength on national security to play such a game.

I guess that would reach the shallow yet pandering sector of the nation.

Good grief.

I would love to see one that has John Kerry whining about not getting enough support from our allies, while the video portion shows headlines about the Oil-for Food scandal. Then the final question: Is there really anyone out there who does not know why we were ot supported by our "allies"?

GOP needs an ad that contrasts Kerry's call for building a coalition, and "global test" before going to war, with his vote against the Gulf War, with it's massive coalition (including Syria) and UN Security Council approval. The President mentioned it during the last debate but Kerry's vote against the Gulf War so undercuts his current position, and questions his commitment to American safety, that this needs to be hammered home. And, it is a simple and understandable subject for an ad. Even political commentators have asked why the the GOP hasn't made more of this over the past few months and I agree with them. Kerry can't run from his record on this, but the GOP is letting him hide. It's time to turn over the rock.

Yes, that's exactly my point! These are the voters that typically vote Dem because they are shallow and are pandered TO, not panderING. You have to show an appealing side of the GOP to people who have been brainwashed into thinking Bush hates blacks and hispanics. And what better way than George P?

And I totally disagree about humor. Bush uses humor VERY effectively and it endears people to him, unlike the overly serious and doofus-natured Kerry who is seen as out-of-touch and impersonable. I think you could have a few humorous ads in addition to all the serious ones that actually might turn some voters off.

I think that we need to start thinking outside the box a little bit.

I can think back to my high school hippie buddies in the '70's who would stop and think if they saw Ted Nugent (whom they listened to a lot) endorse Bush. Or is endorsing the NRA position. Whatever. They may think, "Okay, cool dude is for W. I can be, too."

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!!!!

Liberal.

Borrow and Spend Liberal.

Elect Kerry and he will borrow and spend our money like there is no tomorrow. Who will pay for Kerry's borrowing? Who will pay for Kerry's spending?

You will. Your children will. Your grandchildren will.

Vote Bush for fiscal responsibility. The conservative choice.

I did not miss them.
However, I'd sure like to see MORE of them!
On national ads!!!
They also are appealing and charistmatic!

Oh, I'd love to see Arnie in some kind of termintator outfit blowing up some Taliban/Al Queda camp and then turning to the camera, and saying "If I could really be kiling our enemy who killed us on 9/11, it would be because of our president George W Bush, who I am supporting for re-election. Join us in the fight on Nov 2."
Something like that.

Yes. Let's pimp George P. And the Dems can respond by pimping Chris Heinz. Then CNN can have a poll we can Freep and, in the end, the American political system will be that much less.

Where did all the adults go?

I wonder if George P thinks he is pimping by supporting the re-election of his uncle at campaign rallies, etc.

People who have assets are considered an asset.

This is not unadult-like; this is an honest assessment as to where the talents and assests of the GOP can be best used to get people to vote for W.
I mean, we do want to get people to vote for W, don't we? Don't we need to influence them with new ways of thinking, and new ways of looking at the GOP?
Adults look at options and then use the best ones they have to meet objectives!

On one of the local empty channels where only text is seen, I saw where the text said:

God is neither a Democrat nor a Republican, but God is watching to see how both candidates treat the poor.

I thought a little change to the text might be good, like:
...but God is watching to see how each candidate treats the unborn.
