I expected this one.

If there is a genuine upswing for the President underway, it won't show up on this poll until Tuesday or Wednesday.

It's interesting how Zogby and WPO have seemed to move in reverse... I wonder if there is something in the methodology... Zogby now looks very good for Bush, better than this poll.. whereas WPO consistently looked better than Zogby a few weeks ago

anybody have thoughts?

Reagan was the challenger. Undecideds often break 3-1 for the challenger. Bush is not.

If this poll is legitimate at all, Bush ought to have a better day tomorrow because the day for Kerry that reversed a 50-47 Bush lead falls off.

But I'm not convinced this poll is worth much.

Anyone know when Battlefield comes out?

Then why has John Kerry panicked as he falsely claims Bush will bring back the draft? Kerry's foolish statement about Cheney's daughter and now his own ridiculous assertion about the draft leads me to believe they're in real trouble. Another thread reports the Bush is up by 5 in Oregon, yes Oregon and tied in NJ.

anybody have thoughts?

1. The're playing with us, attempting to show a tight race so they have something to report.

2. They aren't playing with us, and the different "weighing" methodologies used by each pollster produces divergent results.

One day means nothing. Who knows what kind of day went off on the other side? Maybe it was a big Kerry day. Maybe it was a big Bush day. Impossible to tell from one day move in a tracking poll. Until a trend starts with it, this means nothing.

2 things:

1. the difference could merely be statistical. Given the MOEs in each poll, they are pretty close to each other.
2. Zogby and WP are not reverse of each other. Zogby is showing Bush slowly gaining, while the WP shows a tied race. The opposite of Zogby would be a Kerry lead which the WP does not show.

My thoughts are This:

Bush is attacking kerry in states that Gore owned in 00

Kerry is defending those states

That tells you every thing you need to know. The wheels are coming off of the Kerry Campaign. Look at the campaign stops not Gallup or Rassumssen.
