Bush's lead expands by one point from yesterday's results. These results are the same as today's Rasmussen. Looks like Bush is settling into a four-point lead nationally.

About time someone posted it - I was too lazy thinking about ten of you would w/in 30 seconds of it popping up...

Big day for W!! Upward movement in Rasmussen and the Post before the debate figures kick in... Zogby looks like the outlier...

Things are looking great!!!

Since it's a tracking poll, the vast majority of responses are pre-debate. So this looks good!

Just wait, the polls are slow to react... Bush decisively and clearly WON! Kerry is attacking a sitting President AT WAR, AGAIN! I don't think it's playing very good in Peoria LOL!

Bush HAS TO address the fact that Kerry voted against Gulf War 1 in a debate. He also has to remind America of Kerry's own words from 6 months ago : "The threat of terrorism has been exaggerated"

I'm not sure if we should be calling this the Cheney bounce or the Bush bounce, but the early results are very encouraging.

Barring an absolutely incredible "October Surprise" from the Schrum wing of the Kerry party, Bush has this locked up.

Does anyone know what the number of viewers was last night versus the first debate?

it would include the cheney debate but very little if any post bush debate.

Some agency will likely release a poll monday showing screwy results - but that will be due to weekend polling. The most accurate poll will be something out mid to late next week.

Can I please remind you guys who keep harping on "Bush has to bring this up and that up" of something?

It's a story told by Walt Frazier of the NY Knicks championship team. He said, "You know, I could steal the ball from my opponent any time I wanted to. Any time. But I didn't. I waited until late in the game---if at all---or when we absolutely needed the ball and he was overconfident."

Bush will use this IF he has to and WHEN he has to. Right now, Kerry's still trying to figure out how the whole "wood" thing went so wrong.

He did today I think; I don't really see how he can again since the debate will be over domestic policy.

Not to mentioned that, when Bush said "If Kerry were President, Sadaam Hussein would still be in power", Kerry answered with "Well, maybe, but..."

On another note, that guy that wrote the ABC memo about Bush must be pissed at this poll!

Our "expert" poll watcher, Dales, said that it is best when our guy moves up steadily in a tracking poll, not a quick spike. This "steady" movement seems to have been happening in WPost and Rasmussen.

These are excellent points, but perhaps Bush is saving them for later in the campaign in order to maximize their impact just before the election.
