DUBAI (Reuters) - An Islamist group in Iraq (news - web sites) has said it killed two female Italian hostages in a statement posted on an Internet site not often used by Iraqi militants.

The group, calling itself the Jihad Organization, said it had killed the women after Italy did not heed its call to withdraw its forces from Iraq. A group with a similar name, the Islamic Jihad Organization, said on September 12 that it would kill the hostages in 24 hours if Italian troops did not leave Iraq.

"Why can't we find these people???"

That is my question, exactly. It has not even been stated that we are TRYING to find them, although I'm pretty sure we are.

And as for the female prisioners they want released, they should both be executed RIGHT NOW! I mean, literally, at this instant. If we must give them a trial first, so be it. That should take a few hours, ok, maybe a week.

Then, off with their stinking heads.

I am so angry about this stuff. Bush needs to really respond with something other than "stay the course" on these murders of non-combatants.

I agree. Once they are dead there can at least be no more killed over demands for their freedom. Of course, that will not stop the killing, it will only change the excuse of the day.

Those who consider themselves to be moderate Muslims should be hunting these dogs down themselves. If they do not take to the forefront in this war soon, the all out religious war that so many have done all that is humanly possible to avoid will be upon us soon.

If they behead women and show it on film, they may get their wish for a tougher response and a wider war...but not in the way they imagine.

It doesn't seem to be happening --- they're taunting the West with all these videotaped beheadings --- but we're still saying they are the religion of peace. We're too politically correct and most people really don't care.

Tabari VIII:179/Ishaq:550 “Among those who Muhammad ordered killed was Abdallah bin Khatal. The Messenger ordered him to be slain because while he was a Muslim, Muhammad had sent him to collect the zakat tax with an Ansar and a slave of his.... His girls used to sing a satire about Muhammad so the Prophet ordered that they should be killed along with Abdullah. He was killed by Sa’id and Abu Barzah. The two shared in his blood. One of the singing girls was killed quickly but the other fled. So Umar caused his horse to trample the one who fled, killing her.”

I think you're full of "it".

That's not the way George W. Bush operates.

Political considerations are always a factor, but "running this War through cynical political considerations" seems a bit much.

Part of me says that we have to be a people of law and use due process; but most of me says that death by lethal injection after eons of appeals is wimpy.

Bring on the daisy cutters laced with pig guts!

No, we should just flatten the area where we know they are. Let people come out, but none come in. And put the ones who leave in a controlled enviornment to sort them. If they want to stay--destroy them.

Is that a serious question? Getting Sadddam out of the way will calm the situation in Iraq and show that the interim government is taking control. The terrorists respect a show of force. The terrorist have been emboldened by the Abu Grahib scandal and think that Americans are losing resolve. They think that they can make demands for political correctness, "Free the women." Who do you think that is targetted to?

Get the woman tried and Saddam along with her. Show them that their barbarism will not be rewarded.

"In-laws are in Italy now on vacation. They said they have never seen so much graffiti and street people. "

Actually that is pretty common there. I travel in Italy on business twice a year. Many of these losers seem to be Europeans from outside Italy (Germans, Dutch, Scandinavians)

And it will only get worse there, and possibly here, between now and our election. Expect allot more. They will try to influence our election.

Non-action on all these beheadings will just get them to start upping the ante --- they aren't getting their demands met --- but they also aren't getting any retaliation for what they're doing. We're asking for more problems.

I've been reading up alot these last few days on muslim historical events during a debate with a Spanish freind of mine on another forum and this is just more of the same, time and again throughout their pitiful history. Forty Eight Spanish Christians were beheaded at Cordoba Spain as far back as 850 AD during muslim invasion and occupation.

Basically from my research I find that Muhommed was a coward who only talked of war or fighting when he was surrounded by a warring civilization as backup that chose him as their representative just like his followers. All cowardly ba$tards that shoot and run into mosques or behead inocents behind a mask.

Prayers to the families of the Italians....

BTW- anyone know what ever became of the French captives...?

Can anyone tell me who is pulling the strings on the
"negotiations" with the U.S. military WITH al-Zarquarwi for the cease fires that come up from time to time?

This is a mess because we give that terrorist a place for "neogotiations". This situation is identical to the
Taliban monsters in Afghanistan 2001m trying to negotiate some sort of compromise that was just an attempt to stall things to move bin-Laden around.

The whole thing stinks. Surely someone knows where al_Zarquarwi is? Maybe not? Too bad we don't send him to hell now.

Frankly, if we have a hint as to where these hostages are held, we would be doing them a favor if we used the daisy cutter. I think that the one hostage who refused to do what he was ordered and forced the captors to shoot him, had the right idea.

If true, this war is becoming more savage than anyone expected.

They killed women and children in Beslan, Russia while chanting Allah Akbar--God is Great!! There were almost a dozen Arabs as part of this murderous group. The Palestinian suicide bombers also kill indescriminately.

I notice that the beheadings have been of civilian employees. If they are trying to convince people from going to Iraq they might succeed.
As to the women, it still has not been verified and maybe true or meant to shake things up even more. Psychological warfare has moved up a few notches since my day.
