Free Republic has been reported on, for the first time that I know of, in the Japanese- language press online.
Granted, it is a Japanese translation of a recent original on-line American article; nevertheless, it has been no doubt seen by thousands of Japanese readers on the Internet!
Here is the URL, (as well as linked above):

KEYWORDS: cbs; cbsnews; cnet; congrats; election; fakes; forgery; fr; freerepublic; global; japan; japanese; kakattekoi; killian; memos; napalminthemorning; rather; rathergate; seebsnews; worldwide

Of course, one can see the page much easier if one has Japanese font capability installed on the PC. Nevertheless:
Scroll down 1/2 way on the page. In one of the middle paragraphs you will clearly see "FREE REPUBLIC". It's in the paragraph starting with "CBS...60 Minutes". It talks about how Free Republic's contributors/researchers were a key link in breaking the news about the CBS-Rather Fake Documents last week.
The Japanese article itself says: "Random Bloggers Take On American CBS-TV After Broadcast Raised Doubts About President Bush's Military History" (sic)
And this is just the tip of the iceberg. For example, here (in Japanese, sorry):
http://purple.noblog.net/blog/l/10015667.html
A Japanese blogger has run an exciting story entitled: "Memo on Bush Duty in Military Exposed by Bloggers as Fake!" ("'Bushu no gunreki wo shimesu memo ga gizo' to buroga shiteki!")
Congratulations Free Republic.

Yes. You could also phoneticize as "Busshu".
I used just one "s" in my 'Freepranslation'.

Actually Bushyu. At least from what I hear on Japan TV.
My wife is from there - since she controls the remote (leaving me more time for free republic) that is what is on most of the time.

No Times New Roman? LOL

I've been doing Japanese words searches, believe it or not, on Japanese language news search engines, looking for references to a certain "Buckhead" (Bukkuhedo), and "Tanker KC" (Tanka Keishi) and "Howlin" (Howrin), but havent seen 'em yet! I'm sure they will show up soon, though. :-)

Hey - who authorized that honorific?!?
Since he is such a baby it should be Kerry-chan or Kerry-kun.
