Klein said the attacker was wielding a 9mm pistol, and that he struggled with his victim in the kitchen before the woman shot him once in the torso with a 12-gauge shotgun.

Nice. 'course, my wife would have aimed for the head.

She did well - she shot for the most mass, which is the best for an instant decision response.

"A death has got to mean something. What's this going to mean to his friends?""

Uh...don't break into someone's house and pistol-whip the owner while wearing black clothes and a Halloween mask?

Just guessing here.

To quote Hillary (though I don't think she would approve its application to this situation): "You go, Girl!"

with a shotgun, police said.

The nice thing about shotgun blasts is there often isn't much left for a surgeon to fix. It definitely cures recidivism.

I own one of the most powerful handguns you can buy, but let me tell you that not much beats a 12 guage for self defens. At this range and given her shot placement, you can almost count on a one-shot stop.

and the police chief can't say whether or not the man or his wife would be charged?? Sounds like the police chief needs to face a very determined and serious recall drive a la gray davis style!!!!

Reading the whole story shows me the homeowner was areested in 2002 for selling crack. So no wonder he was the victim of a home invasion. But still, the bottom line is that his wife stopped another criminal who was armed and had forced his way into the house. That I would never prosecute.

Can't imagine what they could charge her with. Leaving dirty dishes in the sink perhaps?!

Tough to know who to root for, the armed burglar or the crack dealer.
