If this has been posted here, I'd be happy if someone can point me to it. Not having any luck with the search function.

The infiltrators really weren't effective anyway. The incident did put a little grin on the President's face though.

The NY Times found it fitting to put a picture of it on page A1. Above the fold.

There is no way that someone as flamboyant and well-known to the media as Medea Benjamin could have snuck in to the RNC without inside help.
I smell a rat.

I think it was a maseterful stroke, letting the vastly unpleasant Ms. Benjamin into the fray....
No way in hell they didn't recognize her.

Heres something to consider.
It could have been planned as a means of showing that we have enemies within this country without calling them enemies.

Lee and Mel just mentioned that perhaps former CA governor Pete Wilson was one of the delegates who gave his convention pass to the protestors. Pete Wilson?? That's highly doubtful, imho.

I just heard Lee and Mel on KSFO you mean grandpa simpson and parrot girl? ;)
To: EggsAckley
I heard that too. Really really dumb. It was fortunate that these people that got in were just disruptors. What if they were dangerous people bent on some real damage? Just appalling.

The protesting itself doesn't bother me so much--but if a protester can sneak in, how easy would it be for someone more dangerous?

The speech before the protesters made their presence felt was on autopilot. If anything the protesters got the President's dander up and he finished on an upnote with a flourish.

do a google.com search in the news for delegate pass, and there you will get a host of papers online news.
Here is the loose cannon's mugshot:
Medea Benjamin, co-founder of the activist group Code Pink, is arrested as she begins to stage a protest outside Fox News headquarters in New York, Tuesday Aug. 31, 2004. The protested Fox News and its personalities, shouting 'Fox news lies' and 'Murdock shutup.' (AP Photo/Bebeto Matthews)
NY Times has a great article in which the AP and KSFO I think read the information from.

Naw, that wouldn't be Pete Wilson.
Medea Benjamin's a nut from here in CA who has run for governor a few times on the Peace & Freedom ticket, anyone from CA, especially Wilson would have recognized her.
Michael Moore probably have her his credential, ketchup & mustard stained and all...

I humbly submit for your consideration that any thread involving liberal protesters include this graphic and linked mp3. Click on the loveable little tyke to hear his opinion.
Just paste the following into your post, replacing parenthesis with "less than" or "greater than" (shift+"," or shift+"." Had to do that to get it to display):

I missed the show this AM, otherwise I'd at least corroborate the hearsay.

Sounds like somebody got their wires crossed on a prior account of the disruption, which stated that Wilson offered the woman his seat after she was already in the arena (she'd apparently been whining about sore feet). She obviously had already acquired her pass.
