These are the words of John Kerry. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he claims to have served honorably and well, and he points with pride to his Band of Brothers - the other Veterans of Vietnam. How highly he speaks of those who fought and died so long ago - how quickly he points to their sacrifices as his own! He raises his hand in salute and honor to the glory that is John Kerry's Vietnam...
But there are those among us who remember the another John Kerry - the one who came upon our televisions and into our homes, night after night, preaching from his moral pulpit high above the Congress of the United States, preaching a gospel of hate for the Veterans of Vietnam. There are those among us who remember the jeers, and the screams and the sheer outraged loathing for the men who came home to John Kerry's protests. We should remember these words, for they are his legacy, and his gift to the Veterans of Vietnam.
These are the words of John Kerry, through his organization, Vietnam Veterans Against the War; these are the words of high honor he heaped upon his "Band of Brothers", the Veterans of Vietnam:
Flyer for Vietnam Veterans against the War
As John Kerry and his merry band of street performers came through town, they posted these flyers wherever they were able. They re-enacted the "war crimes" of U.S. soldiers for admiring audiences. They spoke to newspapers, to newscasters, to anyone who would listen. How passionate! How noble! Surely this man would not lie, for he is an honorable man. Then John Kerry and his new friends would light up their tokes and move on to a new stage - one which he had chosen to propel him into the limelight of the American political arena.
Now, at last, he appears to be within reach of his dream - so close to becoming the Commander in Chief of all those whom he despised. But the seeds of discord that John Kerry planted so long ago are bearing the fruits of anger, and resentment, and bitterness.
There are those of us who remember the words of John Kerry.
Somewhere tonight, an old man is remembering the airport, and the group of anti-war protesters who greeted him upon his return from Vietnam with spittle and the epithet "Babykiller".
Somewhere tonight, a quiet soul is remembering how, after vicious battles, he came home to vilification, protests and harrassment from the music, the media, and the mouths of anti-war Americans.
Somewhere tonight, the earthly remains of what was once a proud young soldier lie cold and forgotten in a grave, and he remembers nothing. The vitriol and the contempt from his own countrymen were all he knew in his time and all he received from America, thanks to the words of John Kerry and the VVAW.
There are those who say it never happened - those, who upon the testimony of a Holy Cross sociology professor who was never even there, have decided that there was never such a thing as the abuse of returning soldiers. Even though thousands of Vietnam Veterans have spoken of their own personal experience, they are not to be believed. Why should you believe them? John Kerry himself has vouched for their vicious and unworthy character, and we need no other witness...
These are the words of John Kerry, and the "Vietnam Veterans Against the War":
*****
A U.S. INFANTRY COMPANY JUST CAME THROUGH HERE! If you had been Vietnamese...
We might have burned your house We might have shot your dog We might have shot you... We might have raped your wife and daughter We might have turned you over to your government for torture We might have taken souvenirs from your property We might have shot things up a bit... We might have done ALL these things to you and your WHOLE TOWN!
If it doesn't bother you that American Soldiers do these things every day to the Vietnamese simply because they are "Gooks", then picture YOURSELF as one of the silent victims.
HELP US TO END THE WAR BEFORE THEY TURN YOUR SON INTO A BUTCHER
or a corpse.

These are the words of John Kerry and his organization, Vietnam Veterans Against the War. They are his gift to the Veterans of Vietnam, his gift to the men who died while he protested, his gift to the men who were tortured in North Vietnamese prison camps, his gift to the men who came home only to be reviled by the words of John Kerry.
May he be remembered eternally for all he did to welcome home his "Band of Brothers", the Veterans of Vietnam - by these, the words of John Kerry...
That day is here.
I echo your comments wholeheartedly.
I never could have imagined that the Dems could put forth a more loathsome character than BJ Clinton. But John F'n Kerry has proven me woefully wrong. He is a total waste of humanity.
I fear that events that happened 30 to 40 years ago are totally irrelevant to much of today's electorate. They either weren't born or were under 20 years old. I remember when I was 20 (1971) that events that occured between 1931 to 1950 were almost completely irrelevant to my life and they probably wouldn't have affected my choice in a presidential election. In high school U.S. history, the 20th century was always compressed into a short week or two. And I very much doubt that today's history classes teach students about the virulently anti-American activities of Kerry and his ilk during the Vietnam war. How in the world can we make these issues relevant to today's voters?
I was only 8 when this happened, and it affects my vote. Why? Because I had friends whose parents never came home. It probably affects us more than you realize. As to how it affects today's voters, well, my daughter is 19, and she becomes LIVID when she hears my stories about the protesters and how the vets were treated.
September the Eleventh changed everything. We are a nation at war, and when you tell them the stories of soldiers, they think of their own loved ones. It matters.
Clinton protested as well, although he was smarter than Kerry and did his work in England.
Clinton also visited Moscow, while we were in the middle of the cold war, and going to such a place was impossible without "connections" to the communists.
Mrs. Clinton wrote her college thesis about a communist as well.
This is the modern Democratic party.
Hopefully, the future of the Democratic party will be speaking on Wednesday night, at the REPUBLICAN convention. Zell Miller.
The country needs a two party system. But both parties should be AMERICAN parties. Not old communist party sympathizers and European wannabees.
BTTT
Look at the slugs standing up in the back of the room!
Here are some words from Kerry, copied directly from the front page of his website:
I'm not going to let anyone question my commitment to defending America - then, now, or ever. And I'm not going to let anyone attack the sacrifice and courage of the men who saw battle with me. And let me make this commitment today: their lies about my record will not stop me from fighting for jobs, health care, and our security - the issues that really matter to the American people. John Kerry, August 19, 2004
Kerry led the way in attacking these very men after he got back from Vietnam! What a bold face hypocrit.
The mother of all flip flops!
He is incredibly good about changing his stand sentence to sentence. One sentence no one is going to attack them; very next sentence he attacks them.
John Kerry will not permit another printing of this book.
Dandelion...you are fortunate to have a daughter who is interested in these critical issues and who wants to discuss them with you. My daughter is turning 18 next month. I've been trying to get her engaged on the serious political issues because she will be eligible to vote for the first time in November. But I fear that the California (Bay Area) public school system has polluted her mind with left-lib thought (her English classroom at the HS even has a picture of Che Guevarra on the wall, but nary a picture of Washington, Jefferson, Madison or Lincoln!).
While some might claim that this is when Kerry resigned, he claimed to be the head of the VVAW as late as Jan 1973. We are forbidden by Corbis to post the picture, but if you do a search on kERRY NIXON (all caps except the first letter) at that site, it brings up the picture. If you click the photo to bring up the larger image it has the caption. It states the photo was taken January 24, 1973 in Lowell, Massachusetts. It identifies him as a Vietnam vet and head of Vietnam Veterans Against the War.
Fear not POF. I was 13 at the time and it is EXTREMELY relevant to me.
