Maybe they deducted his vacation time when he failed to show up for meetings.

Perhaps you will tune in to the debates and the storm will pass.

I know, I know ... I'm an optimist. ;)

As a retired factory sales rep I appreciate the importance of optimism, you don't sell much product if you project a pessimistic attitude. BUT, it is becoming increasingly difficult to remain optimistic about the Bush campaign.

I don't see many Bush TV ads, and the ads I see are lame IMHO. He should be emphasizing the issues on which the majority of public opinion favors his position. I have not seen or heard any ads referring to wedge issues such as protecting traditional marriage, partial birth abortion, funding alternatives to failing public schools, or any of the social and economic issues which poll strongly in favor of Bush's positions and against Kerry's.

I understand that Karen Hughes is back on Bush's staff. If so, maybe she can turn the ship around in time. If not, we are in for a world of hurt come November IMHO. BTW, I have noticed that anyone who questions the wisdom of Bush's campaign people is immediately branded as a DU troll, or worse. If you want to check my posting record since I signed on to FR 6 years ago that accusation can be easily disproved.

Nonsense and exaggeration. CFR has, as I predicted, meant nothing.

So you think it means nothing that gagging hundreds of conservative orgs while allowing Soros and his billionaire cronies to fund moveon and other far-leftist 527s that are spewing lies and venom every day? McCain-Feingold is a disaster, and if Kerry wins because of it it will be a total, unmitigated disaster.

McCain is the most dangerous enemy Bush and conservative Republicans could possibly have. The disguised enemy within the gates is always more dangerous than the enemy without. Why the normally conservative AZ Repubs tolerate that despicable excuse for a man after he has proven his malevolent nature I will never know.

Kerry's campaign seems to be one big Walter Mitty hallucination. I have mentioned this before and wonder why no one has picked it up.

John Kerry = Walter Mitty

Just what organization has been "gagged?" Maybe you are unfamiliar with the brilliant success of the Swift boat campaign? For the last two weeks it has had the Kerry campaign running around looking like idiots.

You are not claiming that the Lefties are too smart for us are you? As I said immediately after the bill was signed only Idiots will be silenced by this law. That prediction has been right on the money.

That law will have no impact that would not have occurred in any case. NONE.

"As a retired factory sales rep I appreciate the importance of optimism ... "

First off, I don't consider you, or many of those that voice criticisms of the Bush campaign, as trolls. We all have indiviual thoughts, and that is how it should be.

My thoughts are, that given the extremely short memory of the public, this race, for many, will come down to the debates. Those (expletive deleted) undecideds.

I know this; I am not a consultant to the campaign, and must trust those who are with bringing in a winner. It's much like driving as a passenger in a car. I sure wish I was driving.

Rather simpistic, I guess, given the enormity of the situation, and how it will effect our great nation.

I knew Herbert W. Bush was going to lose. Hell he didn't even try. I knew Bob Dole was going to lose. He was most unimpressive, and a Senator too long.

I do think GWB will win. The debates, the national safety and security thoughts of the people, the what if's concerning Kerry, all will be positives for him.

The polls at this time and place are only a bit useful for the campaign managers. They are absolutely worthless to you and I, other than to perpetuate the thought that this race is going to be nip and tuck.

The Dems have been screaming nothing but epitaphs at GWB, nothing positive.

The Vietnam war B/S is just that, B/S. GWB can beat Kerry on Kerrys anti American voting record.

I wish us all good luck! ;) Regards

RATs are hoping their 'minimally qualified candidate' will win anyway. They're analyzing his chances from the point of view of a braindead electorate. However, just because liberal RATs are braindead doesn't mean the rest of us are in the same condition.

"John Kerry, Bob Kerrey -- similar names," said Kerry campaign spokesman Michael Meehan.

Michael Meehan, Michael Moore -- similar names.

They better take off also the fact that Kerry served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

Where do they get these stories?

The Bush-hating party thought they could nominate anybody and get away with it. They were wrong.

No, Hill and Bill knew exactly who they wanted nominated and how easily he could be destroyed.

Just what organization has been "gagged?"

According to two organizations I belong to, it's a violation of CFR law for them to mention the voting record of a candidate or anything concerning his or her position on any issue for 60 days before an election. The NRA can't use the media to report whether a candidate voted for or against antigun bills, and Focus on the Family can't air ads revealing a candidate's stand on issues such as abortion, homosexual special privileges, or the preservation of traditional marriage.

Those are just two of probably thousands of similar orgs which are gagged by CFR for all practical purposes. I'm sure there are many, many more that I have no connection with or knowledge of.

As even the idiot Dims have figured out with a minimal slight of hand hardly beyond the means of such organizations as those "new" organizations emerge which can say whatever they wish at any time they wish. If these laws mean the influence of the stupid is reduced then GOOD!

It's obvious that you have a burr under your saddle concerning CFR, so I don't intend to argue with you any further. If you like having your freedom of speech restricted and inhibited and the right to know how the people representing you in government are voting and behaving, fine and dandy, but I don't.

Yes, there are ways for special interest orgs to get around CFR law to some extent, but why should they have to? Americans should not have to devise ways to get around laws which are unconstitutional on their face. If McCain-Feingold is not a clear violation of the 1st amendment's free speech clause then nothing ever could be. The framers clearly intended the 1st amendment to protect political speech, yet CFR was designed with surgical precision to inhibit and restrict political speech by any entity other than the media and politicians themselves. Pornographers can put anything their perverted minds can imagine on a movie or TV screen, but a couple of weeks from now Dr. Dobson of FOTF won't be able to answer a request for information on how a congressman voted on the PBA ban. I suppose you think that's a good thing too.

A truthful title of the CFR bill would have been "The Incumbent Protection Act". Never in America's history has any law this blatantly, unarguably, unconstitutional been enacted by congress and upheld by the USSC. I didn't believe it could happen in America, but it has. Don't be surprised when the next BOR amendment is ripped out of the old parchment and deepsixed, because they now know they can do it and get away with it scot free.

The incredible success of the Swift Boat Veterans have made mockery of the silly claims of restrictions on Free Speech by the CFR. I repeatedly said this would be the result of passing that silly law and was repeatedly assured that DOOMSDAY had arrived by such as you.

$500,000 in ad expenditures has completely dominated the cable news for two weeks now and shows little sign of diminishing. Yet fools still whine that rights have been lost. Can anything be more absurd than that comment?

You still cannot tell me one right you have lost.
