Claim removed from Kerry site

On Wednesday, Rush Limbaugh had the Google cache on his web site. I would assume that was not simply a link. I haven't yet done so, but someone who subscribes to Rush 24/7 could go over there and see if he still has the unedited Kerry page with the "vice chairman" sentence in it. I saved a copy myself, but don't really have the facility to post it yet.

In news releases and postings on John Kerry's campaign Web site as recently as last Friday, the Democratic presidential candidate is touted as the former vice chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.

Goodness gracious people. Give the F'inn campaign a break. Can't everyone see the last names are the same? I mean, Kerry and Kerry are spelled the same. He WAS in Vietnam you know, and spent Christmas in Cambodia. He did get three purple hearts.

He was for ______________, before he was against ____________.

Well, yeah, the names are quite similar, and it would be reasonable to expect to see some young Associated Press reporter confusing the two. But it is ridiculous to have the mistake on Kerry's own website. It is the equivalent of putting someone else's accomplishments on your own resume.

I have a Jewish friend named Mickey Mandell. His resume includes graduating from Brooklyn College with a degree in accounting and passing the C.P.A. exam. I suppose if it said that he hit over 500 home runs in his career and won the American League Triple Crown in 1956, he could explain the mistake by noting how similar his name is to the late Yankee centerfielder.

John Kerry served on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence for 6 years. Kerry joined the Committee in early 1993 and served until early 2001.

They might have removed that error but they left the math error in. Are they trying to minimize Kerry's tenure on the committee or do they really believe that 1993 to 2001 is six years?
