Polls -- Registered, Likely Adults
multiple polling sources | 8-2-04 | self

First and foremost, all these polls are driving me nuts. It is early and overdone, I do think watching the trends is interesting.

The biggest concern I have is watching people get caught up in the likely vs Registered issue. While normally Likely is a better guage, I believe that the Dems will do anything to get first time voters to the polls, so the Registered and to a lesser degree Adult polls may not be as innacurate as we tend to think.

This race I believe will be all turnout based, there is 8-15% of people who may be moved but the rest is pretty well decided. It will be crucial that Repbulicans get out and vote. As usual don't let polls get you confident or depressed, just get yourself and 3-5 other out to vote!

Sorry for the rant, but everyone is getting caught up in Likely vs Registered. We all know that the media will go to lengths to spin the polls any way they can.

Polls lie because your sample may or may not be accurate, even if it is registered or non-registered voters. One problem with polls is getting someone to participate. Plus, are those that participate representative pubs or dems. Add that to the bias of the poll taker and what they may or may not include, and you have a flawed system.

I agree with your title, especially with democrats, that they are "Likely Adults"

Polls don't lie. While they may be inaccurate, they don't lie. Pollsters and media bigwigs on the other hand . . . .

Absolutely or turn the Supreme Court over to the Dems.

Polls don't lie.

I would expect that 5% of the responders lie to the pollsters.

Vote. Even if you are in California (my condolences) and it is 6:45PM, and they call CA for Kerry...VOTE.

Don't forget the Florida panhandle. Don't forget the votes of the military whose votes, when discarded by Gore operatives, the Gore attorneys HIGH-FIVED each other.

Read "At Any Cost" just before the election. Again.

Get out there and vote!

I give you my Five Star Freeper guarantee that turno out this election is the lowest ever. The candidates are raising money like crazy so by the time November comes around people will just want them both to go away.

I don't recall where I posted "The only poll that matters is the one you will enter on November 2nd and vote for Bush/Cheny". It's true that polls gage where the candidate is relative to his/her opponent. However, a poll is just a educated guess on the outcome.

The same about statistics.

Stats can be interpreted to prove any point you might wish.

This year, for perhaps the first time, Republicans are taking registration and GOTV as seriously as Democrats. If you live in a battleground state, get in touch with your local Bush campaign now--NOW!--and volunteer to help register Republican voters and get them to the polls.

If you're not in a battleground state, volunteer for your GOP Senatorial or Congressional or state legislative candidate, or just volunteer for the Republican Party in general.

If we lose this year, it will be no one's fault but our own.

Like I said...........................polls lie!

And Steve, you're funny!
And KeyWest you're smart!

But it makes no difference who, what, where, when or why.
We know that the results are not correct!
(Except for the little, itsy, bitsy, teeny weeny, SPOT that took it, or it was taken for.)
In other words they are wishful thinking.
On whoever's part.
On such a LARGE country!

So, that's the reason I say...........polls lie.

Polls lie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would expect that at least 50% lie to pollsters.
