We all know we are fighting an enemy which Pres. Bush dubbed the Axis of Evil. But there is another enemy. It is the blending of reality with fantasy, truth with falsehood. Of course this is nothing new but it seems to be climbing to new heights in the ongoing media blitz of the political campaign to again place a democrat in the highest office in the land.
For instance, the phrase the media immediately grabbed onto from the whole 9/11 Commissions report: Lack of Imagination. This is the reason 9/11 happened? If this were true, we should have artists and fantasy writers occupying the FBI, CIA, Congress and the White House. Oops! Did I leave out the Judicial Branch? Not to fret, they already live in a fantasy world. But even then, a prophet or seer with the ability to see or foretell the future, or an astrologer, would be a requirement.
All that time and energy expended attempting to arrive at a reasonable explanation of why 9/11 happened, in spite of our various intelligence, and we are left with three little words? This phrase does not conjure up any confidence in the result, thats a fact.
Do I want to spend precious time reading the 9/11 Report? No thanks. Thousands of pages of gobbly-gook in which the only conclusion given was there was a singular lack of imagination. Wheres the reality?
The facts of previous attacks on Americans (not within America, except for the 1993 World Trade Center first attempt) and how our governing bodies responded to them exhibits the lack of recognition, not the lack of imagination, that evil was already spearheaded toward American soil.
In the aftermath of 9/11, the unity of Americans was apparent. But not all Americans understood the ramifications...we have an enemy who wants to destroy us...find out who and attack back. The peril of the Axis of Evil has not been lessened by anything wrought by the Commissions time and investigative efforts.
Many Americans still insist on disavowing the fact that evil exists. Or that evil exists here and now in our own land. This internal Axis of Evil is ourselves. Losing sight of reality and truth has led us down a path of accepting contradictory beliefs about ourselves and how we live our lives.
Today we are experiencing the meltdown of truth as an insidious poison spreads its seeds through the media, movies and society. One man produces a supposed docudrama movie which only exhibits how one American citizen can actually influence people to hate. I seldom heard of this man, Michael Moore, before the explosive media coverage of his movie and him. Moore unexpectedly appeared out of left field to express his total hate for Pres. Bush verbally and absolutely on the big screen. Now thats imagination! No truth has to be involved in fantasy. Does this benefit our nation? This has only benefitted Moore. Need I add, it has been very helpful propaganda-wise to our enemies.
Did he even think about what the result of his hateful passion might be? How about the demoralization of our military troops here and abroad? What kind of patriotism is it that hates? I say again, a beneficial one for our enemies. Ask any Viet Nam vet.
Whats another example? Mr. Kerrys flip-flops on all the issues have left me feeling a little bit schizophrenic. Does the man really have two separate and opposite thinking modes residing in his head? On one hand he states I believe life begins at conception and in the next breath proclaims he will continue to defend a womans right to destroy life in the womb. This is absolutely contradictory and shows in his voting record on all the other issues. Is this a man we want in the White House?
We are really fighting two enemies. The external Axis of Evil is the destruction of America by a fanatical religious cult. The internal Axis of Evil is the self-destruction of America by the loss of a foundational American belief system and the fact that we do not recognize evil in our own backyard.
Theres a struggle going on. Will the internal evil or the external evil, or a combination of both, destroy America? My hope is we wake up and strive for truth and facts, living accordingly in the freedom and liberty our founders meant for us. Therein lies our strength to defeat both enemies and continued greatness as a nation.
Worth repeating.
