"THE JOY OF '6': Lex line is top-rated subway."

I don't know how many of you read this story in "The Post", or heard about on the local news, but The Straphangers Campaign has just released its annual "State of the Subways" report.

According to this article, the report "ranks each line based on what a $2 ride is really worth...based on Transit Authority data from the last six months of 2003."

Not surprisingly, the two trains that I use most frequently while doing interborough or intraborough commuting, the R and N train, are assigned the lowest ranking in this survey. A ride on each train is worth ninety and eighty cents, respectively.

When I lived in NYC I found the Number 6 to be clean, fast and efficient.

Was that the one John Rocker commented on?

C'mon guys!

I know that most of you would rather be given a root canal at the hands of Kim Jong-il than respond to one of my threads, but still...

You can't let this thread die in it's 20s. It's just plain cruel!

Help me out folks.

"THE JOY OF '6' "

The sexual reference is blatantly obvious - appealing to the homosexual deviants to ride?

It's a very sick society up there.

The 4 train is the best because it goes to Yankee Stadium

I happen to like the R.

Even though it's one of the worst, slowest, dirtiest trains in the MTA, according to nearly every source, it still does the job.

there's a reason we referred to the South Eastern Pennsylvania Transit Authority as "septic"

yeah.

I'll give the french their due - the Paris Metro system impressed the hell outta me back in '93

NYC has a great pt system.

SEPTA blew for all the time I used it.

MARTA (Metro Atlanta Regional Transit Authority) is {unprintable string of profanity}
