July 15, 2004 -- TODAY'S big story: Dick Cheney was right! You'll have to read on a bit to find out how and why.Five days after the Senate Intelligence Committee stated flatly that Bush administration officials didn't pressure CIA analysts to spin intelligence reports on Iraq, an official inquiry chaired by the former chief of Britain's civil service has said the same about British intelligence and Prime Minister Tony Blair's government.
To sum up: Bush didn't lie. Blair didn't lie.
Oh, and both reports agree that Iraq was trying to figure out ways to acquire yellowcake uranium from Africa which Saddam Hussein could only have sought for the purpose of building a nuclear weapon.
As is true of the Senate Intelligence Committee report, the British inquiry (called the Butler report after Lord Butler, who led it) only bolsters the rhetorical posture of those who believed the only reason to go to war with Iraq in 2003 was because Saddam possessed stockpiles of illegal weaponry.
Many of us argued at the time and argue now that Saddam Hussein had to be taken out because he posed a "grave and gathering threat."
The two most important people in the world who made such an argument were Tony Blair and George W. Bush. The words I've just quoted are the president's, who never said Saddam posed an "imminent threat."

I thought this was going to say that cussing out one's enemies is beneficial to heart health after all ;-)
Nevertheless, we will continue to hear this same argument from the looney left. "No blood for oil!" "Bush lied, people died!" The left loves their catch-phrases and cannot give them up. NOTHING will vindicate Bush in the eyes of the insane commie liberals.
That's true .. but the public is catching on.
You have to be looney to think anyone would need to lie to justify taking Saddam Hussien down. The facts and history spoke for themselves.
"The left loves their catch-phrases and cannot give them up."
It's the party of Johnny Cochran and Jesse Jackson..."If it don't rhyme, I don't got the time."
Is there a way that the Bush campaign can buy a one hour ad on all major tv stations like Perot did in 92 and just detail every single DemoRAT lie over the last 4 years starting with the DNC's attempt to steal the 2000 election?
It would seem that the millions of dollars that they would spend would once and for all put the RATS back into the sewers.
This has been at the core of the Democrat argument, but when you check the record not only did Bush and Blair not say the threat was imminent, it was Edwards who declared it imminent:
"And they do, in my judgment, present different threats. And I think Iraq and Saddam Hussein present the most serious and most imminent threat." Edwards, on CNN, 2/24/02 -- Source: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1167981/posts.
Bush said we must act before the threat becomes imminent. Kerry, on the other hand, would wait. But when does a threat become imminent? When the hijackers buy their tickets, or when the leave their seats to slit a flight attendant's throat? When they buy the explosives, or when they load them onto their truck, or when they drive into a tunnel?
Sorry, Kerry, you lose, and that election outcome is essential if America is to win the War on Terror.
Oh please. You really think that sheeple really care about history and facts? They'll buy whatever the lamestream media spoon feeds them. Thank God for the internet, where people can actually study history and research facts about any current event instead of relying on the communist, anti-American media.
Yes...there are alot of uneducated loons out there, %40 of which who will turn out and vote for John(Lurch) effin Kerry. Its really sad.
Well i can tell you all i have had two open heart operations. And when i take a democrat down a notch or two i feel good. When i get to tell them they are the most corrupt crooked and vile party that i have ever seen.My heart beats a tune to "I feel good like i knew i would".
