Kerry Hate Mongers lie; AP wire helps them
JeffBlogworthy.com / AP ^ | 6-27-2004 | Jeff Blogworthy

A recent controversial add posted on the George W. Bush website has drawn the ire of Democrats, especially the Kerry campaign. Why? It quotes prominent Democrats and Democrat sponsored organizations using some of the most hateful, unhinged rhetoric known to man in criticism of the Bush administration. The add shows rants by various Democrats such as Al Gore and Dick Gephardt. The add also shows bits of a MoveOn.org sponsored piece that compares George W. Bush to Adolf Hitler.

The Democrat response has been to use the lawyerly trick of twisting the evidence into a story that puts them in a more favorable light. If you didn’t follow that, it means they are simply lying through their teeth.

Kerry campaign spin:

It is "unfortunate that George Bush thinks it's appropriate to display images of Adolf Hitler on his Web Site."

"This is the kind of tactic you use when you can't run on your record. We agree that this isn't a time for rage or pessimism which is why America can't afford to let George Bush have another four years in the White House," said Kerry spokesman Phil Singer.

Text of email Kerry campaign sent to Democrat constituents:

Dear Friend,

It isn't often that we'd ask you to go to George W. Bush's campaign website. But every single American should go to georgewbush.com immediately and watch the disgusting ad the Bush/Cheney campaign has featured on the front page.

Titled "The Faces of John Kerry's Democratic Party," the ad features Adolf Hitler alongside Democrats, including John Kerry. President Bush's campaign has relied on negative attacks against Kerry, but this is a new low.

We've always said the Bush campaign would do anything to win, but even we are shocked that they've sunk this low. It's bizarre. It's outrageous. And we're not going to stand for it.

If President Bush has any decency at all, he'll remove this hateful ad from his website immediately.

Sign the Petition Take action today and sign our petition to Bush demanding that he repudiate this disgusting ad putting Hitler alongside Democrats and remove it from his website.

Tell a Friend And please make sure to forward this urgent action alert on to your friends and tell them to join you in this fight!

Hitler image used in Bush campaign Web ad

By JENNIFER C. KERR The Associated Press 6/26/2004, 12:58 p.m. ET

WASHINGTON (AP) — The image of Adolf Hitler has emerged again in the battle for the White House as Democrats and Republicans both have tried to liken their opponents to the Nazi dictator.

A new Bush-Cheney re-election video features clips of Hitler — the same ones the campaign criticized when they were used in a Web spot that appeared on the Internet site of the liberal activist group MoveOn.org as part of a contest in January.

The 77-second Republican ad splices together video of Democrats Al Gore, Howard Dean and others, calling them John Kerry's "Coalition of the Wild-eyed." Interspersed among the clips are images of Hitler.

Back in January, Republicans were highly critical of the ad that ran briefly on the MoveOn.org site. Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie called it "the worst and most vile form of political hate speech."

Now, Democrats are turning the tables and demanding the new spot be pulled.

Kerry campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill called the spot disgusting. "The use of Adolf Hitler by any campaign, politician or party is simply wrong," she said.

The Bush-Cheney video spot appeared on the campaign Web site Thursday and was sent electronically to 6 million supporters.

Aides in the campaign said they have no intention of removing the ad. "We're using the video from MoveOn.org to show our supporters the type of vitriolic rhetoric being used by the president's opponents and John Kerry's surrogates," said Scott Stanzel, a spokesman for the Bush-Cheney re-election campaign.

The Web ad begins with clips of former Vice President Al Gore assailing the Bush administration, screaming: "How dare they drag the good name of the United States of America through the mud of Saddam Hussein's torture prison." It then cuts to an image of Hitler, followed by former Vermont governor and presidential candidate Howard Dean, film director Michael Moore and Rep. Dick Gephardt, D-Mo., all loudly bashing Bush. There are more clips of Hitler, Gore and then Kerry, before the screen cuts to the words, "This is not a time for pessimism and rage."

Unbelievably, Ms. Kerr actually makes it seem as though the Bush add is comparing various Democrats to Hitler. After viewing the outrageously false and biased AP wire story, I along with hundreds of my fellow conservatives contacted them to complain. The AP revised their story. It is still biased in that it does not even mention the fact that the add shows images of BUSH interspersed with images of Hitler, but the AP story is toned down from the original.

Democrats don't rant, do they? I thought they were all supposed to be calm and reasoned orators, preserving all the best manners and displaying unfailing decorum under all circumstances, that is what has made them the darlings of urbane and civilized society, and an example to be emulated by all.

One could scarcely have a chance for rising to high office should he choose to be on less than best behavior at all times.

Damned near made MYSELF gag at that description.

reminds me of those who were upset about picture of the Holocaust, not the Holocaust itself, but the fact that someone would show the pictures to educate others. Sort of like those who are upset when pics of 9/11 are shown.
