Any time Clinton can get in the news, its an opportunity for Morris, too. They're both narcissists.
I don't believe in his core integrity, but opportunist or not, at least this time, he hit it on the mark.
He was part of the team that foisted the evil of the Clintons on this country. As such, there is absolutely no amount of redemption available for any of that pack. The only reason he "hits it on the mark" is because the two of them are so much alike. Morris knows that Clinton cannot do anything more for him, and that Hillary never will, so in order to keep "important", he's willing to whore his experience with Clinton to those of us on the right, so we will give him the adulation HE needs to survive.
40 points in the good guy column for Dick.
Nope, sorry. Dick gets all the points he needs whenever he sees his name in print. He's so desperate for the attention, that he'll risk Arkancide for it.
That part I get. I wish I could remember the thread here, where he gave her a thumbs up. It was unbelievable....others commented on it, too.
I'm going to begrudgingly start Dereliction of Duty tonight. Say a prayer that I can sleep afterwards. She is SUCH a dangerous wench.
I last saw Clinton near my own house in the celebrated Notting Hill district of London in 2002. He decided to do a walkabout, and plunged into the crowd, an activity he enormously and palpably enjoyed, and which delighted everybody. No one ever matched him as a simple campaigner. It was the thing he did best--perhaps the only thing he did well. It might be said, indeed, that he never did anything else.
In Notting Hill he was not running for office. The locals were not his voters. But he behaved as if they were and they loved it. The old con master was in his element. He found himself in a pub and ordered drinks all round. All cheered. The news spread to the vast crowd outside, and it cheered too. Adrenaline racing, fists thumping chests, hugging and handshaking, wisecracking and slogan swapping, Clinton worked that crowd for twenty minutes, leaving it hoarse and exhausted, delighted and deeply impressed when he swept off in his limo. The only unhappy man was the bartender, who was never paid for ol' Bill's round.
Even if Morris is half right, it's truly frightening to recall this was the most powerful man in the world for 8 years.
Sigh....if only BC had been voted homecoming king back in high school...perhaps the nation could have been spared his needy and damaged psyche....
Considering Clinton and Morris, it's called approbation lust.
What a great place this is! Bonaparte posts a 1998 WP story about our current Tricy Dick.
Well done, FRiend
But Morris also helped Jesse Helms win reelection in the closest campaign of his carrer. Morris worked for Trent Lott and several other Republicans.
Morris has a trade. He is a campaing pollster who uses his poll results to craft campaigns. That is his business. Just as car mechanics work for both Republicans and Democrats, Dick Morris is a campaign consultant who works for the people that hire him.
His work has had no more ideology than a surgon. Morris works for the people that hire him. He gets them elected. He has a very good track record.
He is now in his second career as columnist. His job is not to inform or educate, it is to attract readers, and keep them reading his column. That has nothing to do with educating the public or the disemination of information. It is all about getting an audience and selling papers.
The little, bent one ISN'T if we believe the consensus of others.
It's a testament to the strength of our system that America was able to survive 8 years of them.
clintoon does not try to do good.....old Dicky had me for a minute, but a little lower down he shows us the old Clintoon butt boy
And Hil told him that Bill always does this with people he loves...I hope she hasn't experienced this personally.
You are right. Morris is good at spotting how Clinton feeds off others, but he appears to be blind as to how Clinton fed off him.
Anyone who believes Clinton gave a crap about all those welfare recipients is a fool. The man had the most powerful position in the world and did absolutely nothing for them, until forced by the Republicans in Congress.
But he wanted Morris to think he cared, just like he wanted the stooges and rubes to think he "felt their pain."
If Hitler owned a kitten, he'd still be Hitler. Morris's help for Helms and Lott just proves he's a whore, he just goes for whomever will pay the highest price. Can you imagine Lee Atwater or Robert Teeter ever working for a Rat, no matter how much money was involved? Those men had principles, I'll even say that about Carville, even though you can guess what I think about his principles.
Just as car mechanics work for both Republicans and Democrats, Dick Morris is a campaign consultant who works for the people that hire him.
There's a difference between an ordinary worker, say for instance, a newspaper employee who accepts campaign ads, or who works at a hotel for a convention, and the kind of strategist who plots daily how to make a liar and cheat look like a respectable man. Its the same distinction made at the Nuremburg Trials.
It is all about getting an audience and selling papers.
Well, I'll give you that, but it is also about Dick Morris trying to get someone to pat him on the back once more. He'll dish up whatever it takes to get the feeling that people approve of him again. Most of us regard his analysis as deeply suspect, we know his hate for Hillary colors a lot of his political discussion. However, just because we share that disdain for the shrew, doesn't mean that Morris is telling us an insider's truth, it just means that he has a willing audience every time he wants to bash Hillary.
Like the horoscope printed in my daily newspaper, it might be entertaining, but I sure wouldn't guide my life by it!
