It's that time of year again. Guess what? Rain is wreaking havoc at Wimbledon this year. Different year, same story!

Will the Chicago Cubs regain 1st place and keep it?
Um, do you care? Hehe!

World Cup Of Baseball?

Would you be in favor of watching a World Cup of Baseball? Well, MLB is thinking about sponsoring one. For reasons unknown to most folks except profit generation, the MLB is very passionate about seeing Baseball marketed on the international scene. Don't worry folks! It won't interfere with the regular baseball season. It would just disrupt Spring Training. Oh well! Spring Training is boring anyways.
Saving Tiger from himself?
Tiger Woods is in need of a golf game according to sports journalists who know everything. Amazing how they can always figure out someone else's game except their own.

DETROIT CITY ROCKS AGAIN!
The Pistons beat the underachieving Lakers! WooHoo!! Congratulations to the Pistons!

Jeff Gordon
If Tiger Woods is having golf issues, then Jeff Gordon must be his equivalent in the NASCAR world. The same sports complainers are also turning their "wisdom" towards Jeff Gordon. Honestly, the man knows how to win. He'll win again. If not, he is still a winner!
Thank You to all of our Troops and their families.
God Bless all of you!!

  ~ MILITARY REQUESTS ~

Helping our military!!

If you are interested in helping our military, please FReepmail MoJo2001, Brad's Gramma, or Kathy In Alaska for more information. Below is a brief overview of the help that is needed. Thank you!

Operation Semper Fi - Field Hospital in Iraq needs basic necessities and anything else you can think of.

Operation Iraqi Children - An Active Duty FReeper, smaagee, has requested help for children ages 3-11 in Mosul. If you are interested in helping, please contact us. Make sure to put "Operation Iraqi Children" in the subject line.

Operation Military Families - Many military family members have been affected by the deployments. As with many places in the United States, it has taken quite a toll on the population in general. In Indiana, "close" to 100,000 Active Duty and Reservists have left the State. Many of those family members left behind are having a hard time, if you are interested in helping then contact us.

Donations For Our Troops - If you'd like to help send care packages without having to shop, we've found a reliable FRiend to help you. Please contact patriciaruth in FReepmail. She has been doing this for a long time and would be happy to have the help.

Operation Convoys - Our military folks that are members of those Transportation companies need help with the basic necessities and items to hold them over until they return back to base. We've all heard about roadside bombings. Please help make their life a little easier.

Operation Emails, FReepmail, and SNAIL MAIL - So? You don't have the time or money to send anything, how about an email or snail mail? You can even send a FReepmail. We would be happy to send it forward.

WALTER REED & BETHESDA HOSPITALS - FReeper TruthNtegrity visits our Troops in the hospital as often as possible. She needs some help getting them pre-paid phone cards and something to pass the time by. (Such as games, magazines, etc..). If you are interested in helping, please FReepmail her. Thank you!

Operation Care Packages - If you'd like to bring a smile to any of our brave heroes, send them a little something from home. It will go a long way to lifting their morale. It's a long road to killing all the terrorists. Don't let our brave heroes forget that we care about them. FReepmail us if you'd like to help.

Are you not sure what to send or do?

Thank you!

Photograph, Medal of Honor and Flags

*SPEICHER, CLIFTON T.

Rank and organization: Corporal, U.S. Army, Company F, 223d Infantry Regiment, 40th Infantry Division.

Place and date: Near Minarigol, Korea, 14 June 1952.

Entered service at: Gray, Pa.

Born: 25 March 1931, Gray, Pa.

G.O. No.: 65, 19 August 1953.

Citation: Cpl. Speicher distinguished himself by conspicuous gallantry and indomitable courage above and beyond the call of duty in action against the enemy.

While participating in an assault to secure a key terrain feature, Cpl. Speicher's squad was pinned down by withering small-arms mortar, and machine gun fire. Although already wounded he left the comparative safety of his position, and made a daring charge against the machine gun emplacement. Within 10 yards of the goal, he was again wounded by small-arms fire but continued on, entered the bunker, killed 2 hostile soldiers with his rifle, a third with his bayonet, and silenced the machine gun. Inspired by this incredible display of valor, the men quickly moved up and completed the mission. Dazed and shaken, he walked to the foot of the hill where he collapsed and died. Cpl. Speicher's consummate sacrifice and unflinching devotion to duty reflect lasting glory upon himself and uphold the noble traditions of the military service.

STONE, JAMES L.

Rank and organization: First Lieutenant, U.S. Army, Company E 8th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division.

Place and date: Near Sokkogae, Korea, 21 and 22 November 1951.

Entered service at: Houston Tex.

Born: 27 December 1922, Pine Bluff, Ark.

G.O. No.: 82, 20 October 1953.

Citation: 1st Lt. Stone, distinguished himself by conspicuous gallantry and indomitable courage above and beyond the call of duty in action against the enemy.

When his platoon, holding a vital outpost position, was attacked by overwhelming Chinese forces, 1st Lt. Stone stood erect and exposed to the terrific enemy fire calmly directed his men in the defense. A defensive flame-thrower failing to function, he personally moved to its location, further exposing himself, and personally repaired the weapon. Throughout a second attack, 1st Lt. Stone; though painfully wounded, personally carried the only remaining light machine gun from place to place in the position in order to bring fire upon the Chinese advancing from 2 directions. Throughout he continued to encourage and direct his depleted platoon in its hopeless defense. Although again wounded, he continued the fight with his carbine, still exposing himself as an example to his men. When this final overwhelming assault swept over the platoon's position his voice could still be heard faintly urging his men to carry on, until he lost consciousness. Only because of this officer's driving spirit and heroic action was the platoon emboldened to make its brave but hopeless last ditch stand.

If there be any glory in war, let it rest on the shoulders of men like these" -- Audie Murphy

Thank you to all the military heroes, past and present, who have given me my freedoms.  You are my heroes and I pray for God's blessings on you today.

 You will not be forgotten.

Listening to a Search and Rescue case on my scanner.
This boat, the Intrepid, from the base is on the case.
They must be about 25 miles or so offshore
because they just switched to a long range frequency to be heard.
Best I can tell they have been underway for about 4 hours
or so to meet a commercial vessel in distress.
It's going to be a long night.
Fortunately seas are fairly calm and daylight is at it's longest.
Please say a prayer for the crew (my Brothers)
and the crew of the other vessel.
Thank You

The computer guy looks like he wishes had had at least one little stripe.

I appreciate the detail of the wristband lines on the tennis player.
