Matt Lauer: "The White House communications director said of your film, it is so outrageously false it's not even worth commenting. The 41st President of the United States, the president's father, called you, I think you probably heard this, a slime ball."
Michael Moore: "Have they seen it? Have they seen the film? No. Of course they haven't. I will tell you they haven't seen it. These are un-credible reviews from people who haven't even seen the movie."
The film is "Fahrenheit 9/11," and as the title suggests, it's meant to be incendiary. Filmmaker Michael Moore serves up a scathing critique of President Bush and his foreign policy. Moore has made a career of taking on the powerful, setting his sights on corporate America in "Roger and Me" and the gun lobby in "Bowling for Columbine."
But this time, the stakes are even higher. After all, it's no coincidence that it's an election year. Variety called "Fahrenheit 9/11," "a blatant cinematic 2004 campaign pamphlet." But Moore insists that was not his intention.
Lauer: "You accepted the Palm D'Or Award at the Cannes Film Festival. It's a huge honor, especially for a film like this. And you said, I think the quote was, `I did not set out to make a political film. The art of this, the cinema, comes before the politics.'"
Moore: "That's right. That's absolutely right."
Lauer: "I'm amazed you said it with a straight face."
Moore: "Why is that, why?"
Lauer: "Because I think there is politics in every single frame of this movie."
Moore: "Oh, of course there is. Don't misunderstand me. There's politics right now in this discussion. There's politics in all aspects of our daily lives."
Lauer: "But you didn't set out to poke a sharp stick in the eye of the Bush administration and the Bush family?"
Moore: "That's part of what I'm doing. But most importantly, listen, if I just wanted to -- if it was just about the politics, if that was my primary motivation, politics, I would, you know, suspend what I'm doing right now and get out on a campaign trail."
Lauer: "Some people say that's what you've done."

Hey Georgie boy, I bet you would've given a Sunday morning talk show shot to Leni Riefenstahl, if it would've meant a rating point or two.
I wish Michael Moore's body temperature were raised to 911°F.
Easy. Just have him walk fifty yards in corduroy pants.
Michael Moore: "Have they seen it? Have they seen the film?If one hears about a great big pile of B.M., one doesn't need to physically walk up and sniff it to know it stinks.

Moore said the footage of an American soldier taunting an Iraqi was shot in Dec. outside of Basra. The area in and around Basra has been the balliwick of the Brits and the International Forces(Poles, Italians, etc.) I don't know of any U.S. units assigned to Basra.
Moore on the campaign trail ? He will need a bullet proof Popemobile just to go to 7/11 for a big fat slurpee.
I like Matt Lauer's demeanor. He's generally an upbeat individual that I would like to like. Sadly, I can't.
Here Matt Lauer takes Moore to task. He skewers him on the Today show. Mid-sequence I'm shaking my head asking myself, "What's going on here?" Think about it!
Matt Lauer and Katie Kouric promote leftist policy on their show constantly. Moore makes no professions that the leftists on their show have been promoting for weeks, months, years and decades. All of a sudden, Lauer has a tinge of concience?
This just does not compute. If Matt truly feels this way, then he should go after each and every leftist that comes on his show, and ask them what the hell is up with their actions, just as he did here to Moore.
Matt, I'm sorry fella, the absolute 180 degree turn here is beyond me. Which is it? Are you a leftist sympathizing patsie as is depicted by your demeanor towards 99% of your socialist leftist guests, or are you truly upset about Moore publicizing their actions and despicable mindsets for alll to see?
Perhaps Matt has finally come to the realization that the U.S. public should not be presented with exactly what it is the leftists truly believe. Perhaps this is a salvage effort. It may work for some Matt, but we've got you pegged.
Extricate yourself from that socialist quagmire at the Today Show, or better yet start bringing a small smidgen of truth to your viewers.

Not holding my breath...
Ooops:
Moore makes no professions that the leftists on their show haven't been promoting for weeks, months...
That was funny!
He most likely paid for the rest of the stuff too.
Just let him keep opening his mouth. Eventually he is going to incriminate himself.
C'mon Michael, it's just a wafer-thin mint...
I haven't seen any of Goebbel's films, but I know they are hideous nazi propaganda.
Have I seen it? Have I seen it?
Don't need to.
Dear mikey: it isn't necessary to see crap in order to smell it.
Is Michael Moore's film as important "Gigli"? Can American viewing public stand another "All About ME" production? The answer is no on both counts.
Did anyone see Moore on Letterman? He admitted that he was calling the war in Iraq a failure 5 days after it started and that they would not find WMDs, before he knew it for sure. So he admits on national TV that he is a liar and therefore, gets invited on more shows. Kinda like Clinton-lite.
That is utterly gross!!!!!
Moore is utterly gross!
