I used to live in Arlington fifteen years ago.

Last tornado I saw was coming up my street, right off I-20 and Arlington Rd. Very scary to say the least.

It didn't do any damage to my house, but it did push a highway sign with 12 inch I - beams support poles over like a giant stepping on a bug.

I hope every one is OK

I've got a good friend who lives in Dallas. We worked and went to Texas A&M together for 4 1/2 years. Now she is going to law school up in DFW.

I pray she'll be okay. One of my best friends during college.

I live about 30 minutes away from Arlington and we've had a loud thunderstorm with pea-sized hail. No tornadoes, though, so it wasn't really that bad here in Lewisville and it's passing over now, I hope.

Of course this will probably pay me a visit around 3:00 A.M. We had severe weather last night, including Tornado Warnings and baseball sized hail, and I really don't need to be up most of the night again.

Fortunately Tornado's are very localized. Not so fortunate for the ones in it's path. Hopefully your friend is not near this one(s).

I lived though hurricane Andrew in Florida a few years after I moved from Texas.

If I had to made a choice between the two, Tornado's wins hands down, at least they are over quickly and leave a small path of destruction

Good luck to everyone back there. Used to live in the mid-west, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas. I've spent many a night wondering if there'd be daylight in my future.

Nebraska had a tornado over the weekend (IIRC). It measured the largest width of any ever on record, beating former one measured in TX. The Nebraska one measured around 2.25 miles wide. That's quite a path. Luckily it was in a low population density area.
