When I tried to vote to lift the ban, I got a "404 page not found"...if others are getting this it may explain the skewed results.

I'll keep trying.

"We don't want to come back here on Mother's Day again. We want to be with our families and loved ones," McCarthy said. "Let's do it. Let's make it permanent."

What a completely biased article. These people are talking about the usurption of our constitution. It's like declaring war on American law. Who's really tipping the boat here?

"Should sport-utility rifles be banned because they are even more ergonomically designed and user-friendly than regular rifles are, even though the cartridges they fire tend to be lower in power?"

I might as well post the obligatory but bizarre anti-2nd Amendment response of some Freepers, so we can get it out of the way quickly....

"I don't understand why we need machine guns to hunt geese with."

Blech!

This poll is irrelevant, since reauthorizing the ban is DOA in this congressional session. WOOHOO! A meaningless symbolic law bites the dust...

"He also decried a provision in the law that critics contend allows owners of legal firearms to replace the housing for the firing mechanism and turn them into illegal assault weapons. He tied the loophole to October 2002 sniper attacks that killed 10 people in van Hollen's Maryland district, Virginia and the District of Columbia."

Huh? Somebody help me with this? You either are or are not in compliance with the full-auto laws, right? As in, convert it to full-auto w/o the stamp, go to jail if caught? Also, the "sniper's" rifle was semi-auto. What a dork.

Typical "do you still beat your wife" poll question.

"Should the AWB be LIFTED or extended?"

There is no "lifted" about it. It sunsets after ten years. Period. If they want to continue it they have to pass a new one.

Bastards.

All highly evolved societies have concluded that there is no reason for civilians to own these weapons of war.

Only the military and police need them.

My favorite is--

"The Second Amendment means that the RKBA shall not be infringed by the Federal government."

I've found that is usually a weaselly way of saying that State and local governments may infringe this unalienable right.

This "poll" doesn't work. When I clicked "view results", I see 63,293 votes in favor of lifting the ban. Next, I closed the results window, then voted in favor of lifting the ban, and the results window (63,293) stayed the same.
