It wouldn't suprise my if they found a city there but, it won't be Atlantis.

This sounds more like the chimera of archaeology...

Wouldn't the Holy Grail of archaeology be to find the actual Holy Grail?

Maybe they should look for it where the sources say it is, rather than in the completely wrong direction?

If all goes well well be bringing you good news about the greatest archaeological discovery in human history in the near future and we will inaugurate the dawn of a new era of knowledge for human kind. I am personally holding out for the archaeological discovery of Noah's Ark on Mt. Ararat this summer. Now that would be a find.

Interesting story. I remember there was a lady,2-3 years ago working on photographing a submerged city about 4000 feet deep off the southeast coast of Cuba who had the backing of National Geographic. I wonder whatever happened there?

Once there, we are going to lower this copper capsule which is going to contain the flags of Cyprus, the EU and a flag bearing the symbol of Atlantis, he said. What a dopey thing to do.
To: blam
"an expedition that he hopes will result in the discovery of the lost island of Atlantis...when the scientists submerge a copper canister with the flags of Cyprus, the EU and a specially designed Atlantis flag five hours out at sea from Limassol port...where he believes was the plain of Atlantis"
"This discovery is the holy grail of all archaeological discoveries...The world could never be the same after this discovery. We celebrate the joining of Cyprus with the EU with this flag ceremony and we are going to sail over the area where we believe the cities of Atlantis were located...we hope some day in the future the world will once again find it and remember this day long after we hopefully discovered the temples of Atlantis.Totally, irreversibly, hopelessly, nuts!
Also, apparently rich enough to hire a boat to prove it.

I know how this guy feels...I usually had the same visions when I bought penny stocks several years ago. On the other hand, berhaps he has some retinal damage, seeing pyramid shaped objects, rectangles etc. Then again, I never blew $250,000 in the chances I took...perhaps I too would be seeing things.

"... Sarmast said the search for Atlantis would be based on a series of clues left by Plato, including a very detailed description of the island as it was told by an ancient Egyptian priest to Solon, who in turn brought the story to Greece ..."
Wow.
Is he referring to the "very detailed description" that included the phrase "beyond the Pillars of Heracles?"
