How long did it take you to go through the evolutionary process? For me:

Instantly addicted!

2 years of lurking everyday

6 months of being a non-posting member

1 year of occassional posting

1 year of regular posting

1 year of being a chapter leader for Ventura County, CA

Your parsing of steps is quite logical.  I don't recall my first 'hit' on FR, but it was circa 1999.  Pre-election, Y2K era.  I was just never compelled to go to the next level.  Just TMI.  What caused me to go into a posting mode was a natural desire to match wits with like-minded individuals, particularly dry humor.  Pure, unadulterated Darwinism.
