That's why Montreal are fit for travel and business trips only. For making it your permanent home...give me Sydney or even Melbourne (Australia) any other day!

I have thought about the issue of anti-Americanism among people of quebec again, and having looked at books and articles on the subjects and the related issue of separatism, it seems to me it is the francophone federalists (those with "French" ancestry who wants Quebec to stay in Canada) who are hard-core anti-American. Look at the Ottawa bureaucrats, Montrealers (Montreal doesn't have much separatism), and people such as Jean Chretien or even the late Pierre Trudeau: none of them are separatists.
I found Anglophone Quebecois (I mean anyone born not of primarily French ancestry) and francophone separatists seem to be much less anti-American (and even supportive of the US). Perhaps it's the francophone federalists who put forward the fiction of multi-cilti UN-pandering Canada thing working again?
