QUINCY -- William J. Quarterone did not go back to sleep yesterday morning, too troubled after watching a bleeding man collapse in front of his home in the early hours. Minutes before, police said, the man had stolen some Play Station 2 video games, and was fatally wounded as he fled.

"I just saw a human being who was probably down on his luck," said Quarterone, a substance abuse counselor at a South Boston recovery facility. "You surely have to be desperate to do something like that. . . . You just hate to see someone bleed to death out on the street."

Oh where to begin, where to begin? How about with down on his luck? I know every time I see a criminal act the first thought that goes through my mind is "Wow that guy is down on his luck!" (NOT!) I guess the guy was so hungry that he was reduced to stealing video games.

And then there is the classic liberal mantra, You surely have to be desperate to do something like that

No, you just have to be stupid and criminal (or just criminal) with no respect for anyone else's property. Of course massholes don't have respect for anyone else's property. They keep sending tax and spend Teddy back to Kongress and elected "First thing I'll do if elected president is increase your taxes" Kerry. MA should be given to Quebec.

Frankly hearing about a criminal bleeding to death due to his own stupidity and criminal behavior is somewhat gratifying.

I am sure the "family" will sue the store for having unsafe windows.

They said he threw a rock through the window of the video store, stole six Play Station 2 video games, and, as he climbed out the window, apparently got a piece of glass stuck in his leg, causing heavy bleeding.

How long until we see a followup story about the family initiating suit against the store?

How long before some bleeding heart liberal do-gooder, warm and fuzzy birkenstocker counsels the family to apply for all kinds of tax-payer funded "aid", since it is obvious this lifelong criminal can no longer "support" the eight kids?

Everyone knows this wasn't his fault, right?

A victim, sure enough.

And that little bit in the lead of the story, the "fatally wounded" bit?

Pure left wing "victim-speak" from the School of Cry-baby Journalism.

Bury the guy in Potters Field and get on with life.

"He was very good at demolition", said his father.

Yep, good at demolishing his victims, his family (9 kids and one on the way!) and, ultimately, his own life.

It can be truthfully said that this perp's life was one continual demolition derby.

9 kids too late for the Darwin Award to do any good.

Dorchester man fatally wounded in Quincy store theft, police say

What's with the lead. Wounded? I think of fatally wounded as an injury received in battle. Those story has one actor who injured himself. I know newspapers would likely say, He died from fatal injuries received in the car crash on the windy road."

Because we have a theft, we have to read wounded instead of injured? I was expecting a gun shot as part of the story with a followup rant against gun owners from the all-gay everyday Boston Globe.

Yeah, I noticed, but it's never too late to withdraw from the gene pool. Tracking his productivity, his tragic and untimely demise probably saved us from having to support at least six lil bastards so I think the Oak Leaf Cluster is fully justified.

... Nunes, a father of eight...

Does anyone think that there's nothing to genetics, and this loser's spawn are as likely as the rest of us to grow up as healthy, productive participans in society? Too bad he didn't do himself in 15 or 20 years ago, when he could have earned more than an honorary Darwin Award.
