The torah is the first five books of the Tanach, which stands for Torah (Genesis, Exodus, etc.), Nevi'im (Prophets) and K'tuvim (writings). Together, they comprise what Christians call the Old Testament.

The Talmud is not included in the Torah.

A little research will get one a ton of information...There is no doubt as to why the Torah is not easily made available to non-Jews. Now, with the internet, it's easier to research it.

I try by best to avoid responding to some of FR bigot corner, particularly when it comes to Talmudic interpritations from assorted evangelicals and hate sites (those are different places)

I hope Katzenberg or Geffen subsidizes a film that will bridge regilous gaps by and instigating "dialogue" by presenting a straight up view of the Talmud (a tract the study of which we taxpayers subsidize most luxuriantly in terms of populative proportionality) for the edification of American Christians.

I know I'd appreciate it it served up "unvarnished".

I already made the suggestion in this forum that Spielberg or even Mel Gibson should make an authentic movie about the life of Rabbi Akiva, who was one of the foremost sages of the Talmud.

Being the "unvarnished truth" it would not contain all the "juicy" stuff that you suck up from Michael Hoffman and Israel ("I'm a Commie, but nazis just love me!") Shahak.

IMO it is an attempt to polarize Jews against Christians...to get incite Jews and prey upon those old Holocaust fears...using false accusations of the movie's Antisemitism...

Also IMO Foxman and his ilk attempt to propagandize against Evangelicals with wild accusations of Christians who see this movie being compelled to fly into uncontrollable anti Semitic rages and committing violence against Jews...

Besides using his fear propaganda to open the purses of little old Jewish widows down in Broward County, Fl....There are those like Foxman and the JINO secular humanist socialist atheist crew...who seem to also hate Israel...They and their fellow travelers defend Arafat and the Palestinian HAMASCIDE bombings of innocent Israeli Jewish children as 'the fault' of Israelis...and lobby for a separate Paly state...and a weakened Jewish defense....They have to know in their heart of hearts (if they had any) what the ultimate result of such appeasement will be.....

One of their worries...imo...is the relationship that has formed between the nation of Israel and Evangelical Christians...who support Israel and who urge the President to also defend Israel...

Foxman and his ilk...propagandize both Jews and Evangelical Christians...hoping to cause a rift between the two...and exploit it...

Hopefully most Israeli Jews and those Jews still favorable to the survival of Israel and Israel's struggle against terrorism...are smart enough to see through Foxmans attempts to divide us

Hopefully when there is backlash from Jews against Evangelicals because of Foxman's propagandizing...that they will be patient enough to let the dust settle and be patient to repair any damage he and his ilk may have caused.....

In the end I believe this movie will strengthen individual Christians committment to their Lord Jesus and their walks with Him...and will encourage even more support for Israel ..the earthly home of our Lord and His people...and Jerusalem...the seat of His kingdom yet to come...

The above are the first 5 books in KJV, Gen thru Deut

Tanakh = "Old Testament" but in a different order

Talmud= A set of large volumes like an encyclopedia, with very intricate design, original text down the middle, commentary in smaller print along that, lesser commentary off in fine print to the edges of the page. Tells everything about everything, written c AD 200 to 900.

Jews traditionally have been suspicious of those who want to proselytise them and convert them to other faiths.

I believe that Israel's true friends in the Evangelical Christian community (of whom there are many) understand Israel's reluctance to empower those who want Jews to stop being Jews.

If anyone resents Israel for making it difficult for gentiles to convert Jews in Israel to Christianity, then I respectfully suggest that he re-examine the basis for his support for Israel.
