TEN COMMANDMENTS MESSAGE EQUALS LOVE There has recently been a lot of media attention on the subject of the Bible's "10 Commandments" being posted on courtroom walls. No doubt there is much at stake over this issue. But as I read the Bible translation called, "The Message," I gained a whole new perspective on these 4,000-year-old mandates. Romans 13:8b-10 in "The Message" reads, "When you love others, you complete what the law has been after all along...any other "don'ts" you can think of finally adds up to this: Love other people as well as you do yourself. You can't go wrong when you love others. When you add up everything in the law code (the 10 Commandments) the sum total is love." As I pondered on this I began to see the positive in the 10 Commandments. Even though many of the commandments start with "Thou shalt not...," their main emphasis is helping us to treat others as we would like to be treated. For example, commandment eight reads, "Thou shall not steal." No one that I know of enjoys watching their prized possessions being carted off by a pirate. So, if we don't enjoy others stealing from us, we should not steal from others. Commandment seven says, "You shall not commit adultery." As a happily married man of 15 years, I would definitely NOT want to see my lovely wife taken advantage of. So, if your blood boils, as mine does, at that thought, then we should not be heading down that nauseating direction toward infidelity. Commandment nine deals with lying, and no one likes to play the fool in believing a lie. Treating others as we would like to be treated means telling the truth! Need I say more? The 10 Commandments give us a positive and proactive way of living a full and wholesome life, even though seemingly stated in the negative. To disregard them is a sure way of swiftly ending up in trouble, as well as alienating ourselves from God and others. I don't know how the courtroom drama will conclude. Whether the 10 Commandments will be allowed upon the nation's walls of justice is still to be seen. But as for me, I want to ensure that God's Commands are continually etched upon the chambers of my heart. Thought: When we break the 10 Commandments, we're the ones who end up broken. "7. Do we know who is responsible for Hondo's disappearance?? Have we checked the Canteen files to make sure she's acceptable? We just can't have anyone for our Hondo. Please file out the required 150 pages of the vetting process. We'll get back to you if we think you are acceptable. "Dear MoJo,
Imagine yourself as a man for a second. I know it is hard since you are the Queen of all you see, but try, just for a second. Would you find the young lady below acceptable for yourself? If so, then I think you will find at least her appearance acceptable to me. She is currently at work on the questionnaire and will be getting it to you as soon as possible. Please be advised, I find her totally acceptable. I trust you will too.

From correspondents in Jerusalem
February 12, 2004
ISRAELI police have come up with plans to place bags
of pig lard on buses in a bid to deter Palestinian
militants from carrying out suicide attacks, the Maariv
daily reported.
Rabbinical authorities have given the idea its approval
on the grounds that it could be a life-saving measure
even though pigs are also considered impure by Jews. .
Authorities believe that the move could discourage
Palestinians from carrying out attacks as pieces of their
exploded body could come into contact with the pig fat,
prejudicing their chances of entering into paradise.
The paper said that the rabbinical dispensation could
mean that security forces also hang bags of lard in
shopping malls and schools.
Public buses have been a favourite target for Palestinian
suicide bombers since the start of the intifada in
September 2000.

Thanks, Seven, for the international updates.
Shut down CNN International. Please, please, please let this come to pass. If I never heard Amanpour's biased reports again it would be too soon. And she is always whining about something.
