Paul Castronovo is a DJ on a sister station and has granted permission for his name to be used as a source. His mother is a friend/neighbor Carlie's family.Yes, I saw your first post so listened carefully to the police report. Their wording was odd in that they didn't say the usual 'still searching' terms but more definative 'find where she's AT'. Led me to believe the worst. America needs to inact swift action on these monsters, but instead we're sinking to gay marriages, near rape acting out during televised football games, and lying politicans.

An 11 yo girl abducted by a stranger while walking home from a friend's house. The abduction, wchich took place in a car wash parking lot, was captured by a motion-activated security camera.

I assume you don't have a TV. It's OK I can understand why.

I've a six-year old. I pray to God He's merciful enough for me not to ever have to make that choice.

What is it with people that they see stuff like that and remain uninvolved. we once saw a guy getting beat up on a sidewalk in a bad hood,,we drove up, blew our horn constantly and flashed lights till the perp ran away. I don't know, it's so against my nature to ignore things. My own children can attest to how I get involved whenever I see something that doesn't look right - I always tell them that you act on your instincts, of course keep yourself safe - but don't take the "it's none of my business" attitude.

How can they be so sure that she is dead; if there is no body. It seems a thoughtless thing to broadcast; especially no one knows for sure.

I heard an FBI agent on one of the news stations last night commenting on how a mind like this animals works! He said at this point, he knows they want the body and he is working a deal to keep his neck off the chopping block! Apparently he is doing nothing to help the police out though.
IMHO, the old days of taking out a suspect and beating them half to death should be reinstated for cases like this! How can the parents go on?? How horrible for them! I would beg the police to let me just have a few minutes with him and I swear, as God as my witness, I would beat that man to a pulp!!!

They have one Joseph Smith in custody as a prime suspect I hope that is really the guilty one, not patsy framed by the police.

"Totally agree. Law enforcement these days are too busy busting people for smoking cigarettes, seat belt violations, and pot smokers to focus on real criminals."
That's because liberal legislators have nothing better to do with their time than create stupid laws. I just heard on the news today that the New York legislator Felix Ortiz (Dem) who introduced the cell phone law in New York State is introducing new legislation to create an 800 number hot line for people to phone in reports of individuals using their cell phones while driving! I kid you not!!! The report said that the hot line would provide an opportunity for people to call in and give the time, place and license number of the violators.
I bet this puke is one of those whining about how much the Patriot Act is violating our rights.

What I want to know at this point, is why it took 24 hours for an Amber alert to be issued.Governor Bush wanted to know too.
Two reasons--
a) They thought she might be a runaway (the tape wasn't discovered until Monday)
b) They initially suspected the girlfriend's stepfather, who had taken the girls around town on Sunday. They were insisting that he resembled the man in the video. Fortunately, he had an alibi--he was working at the time.

I agree - but the indications from police and family don't seem to place much weight on her surviving this..I truly hope this is wrong - I really do...

I'm listening to WIOD local news right now. They appear to be backing off their earlier report. They said their sources told them she was dead, but they're reporting that police are still searching.

well it is a local story, the only reason it went national is due to the abduction video.... I would think The Amber Alert had a lot to do with it. The owner of the car wash should be commended for fore thought of a video camera.

Add to your list, improper usage of prepositions by public officials.
I'd like to know more details about this guy's criminal history... he's been charged with kidnapping before; why wasn't he convicted?

Law enforcement these days are too busy busting people for smoking cigarettes, seat belt violations, and pot smokers to focus on real criminals Umm.. this guy was a repeat drug offender who did prison time. Do you think he should have still been in prison rather than parolled...... or do you think he was a fine man and sending him to prison for drug crimes made him the way he is now?

The radio station just retracted this story, saying they have no confirmation.
