First I read this on Drudge:

Then I went on MTV's website and I found this: Who's Kidding whom here?

The PR department at MTV must be having a great time. Seriously. Think of all the press MTV is having over this. All over the world. It's a friggin PR bonanza.

They managed to piss off all of us decent people, and at the same time, they are luring in more depravocrats, which is their target audience.

My only concern is that Roger Ailes of Fox News Network loves to watch MTV, mainly to see how they retain and hook their viewers. I hope he doesn't think a stunt along these lines is worthy of the venerable Fox News Network.

The photo of a bare breasted Janet is now one of 12 stills from the Super Bowl show, featured on the MTV.com website. If it were an accident, would that photo be there? Heck no! All staged, all planned, and despite the fines and sanctions and hate email, MTV & Janet Jackson will get exactly what they want -- a ton of press and publicity.

Remember, there's no such thing as bad press.

There are no conflicting messages on MTV. Anything on that channel in garbage and any parent who lets their kids watch it is asking for troubled kids.

Actually, the more I think about it, the angrier I get. The more I learn how they probably lied to everyone I get mad. When I think that young boys watched a man tear part of a women's shirt off to the deafening sound of people cheering, I GET REALLY MAD and when I think that Janet Jackson would go along with that image, I get really sad. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

Fine CBS and MTV ! Whats the National debt? Add 2 million to it and get the surplus rolling. It occurs to me that perhaps this was MTV's way of counter-programming the highly-advertised PPV "Lingerie Bowl?" Who knew that the free broadcast show would show more than the PPV?

If we want to have an impact, write to the people who paid a million plus for thirty seconds of ad time. Tell the sponsors they had better get their expenive new ads off CBS.

Even when CBS had "thereagans" they were courting the expected controversy. They did not expect the firestorm over the prepublicity. Obviously CBS learned their lesson, they kept this under wraps and are now enjoying their pre-planned controversy.

I had a VCR with the SB going while watching another TV flipping back and forth from the game to another program. During halftime, I didn't watch the show -- the Aerosmith/Britney Spears/Nelly debacle a couple of Bowls back cured me of them. But after I heard about Janet's indecent exposure, I checked the tape of the game.

My verdict: there ain't NO way this wasn't prepared or intentional. The only reason for her to have a breakaway cup on that outfit and a pastie/tassle on her breast is if she was guarding her nipple from being exposed. The only reason for Justin Timberlake to reach across her body for her right breast would be to rip the cup away. Anyone who says otherwise is a lying sack.

I see the supposed theme of the show was "Choose to get involved." Well, MTV, you asked for it.

BTW -- up until I learned about this disgusting incident, I thought the low point of the broadcast were the turn for the tawdry of the Bud Light commercials, two of which featured a farting horse and a talking chimpanzee that propositions his owner's girlfriend.

I am insulted that this was aired without a warning so that we could change channels, leave the room or get the kids away from the TV.

The gall of these pornographic addicts running CBS and MTV. They have grovelled in the gutter so long they have no sense of what is appropriate.

Yet, I think this was planned as an assault on the public, as a means of "testing the water" to see if they can bring their love of filth to the mainstream viewers.

I am mad and offended. I have written CBS, the FCC and tried the NFL.

I'm interested in seeing if AOL sues Viacom. If I'd paid $hundreds of millions to be the title sponsor of that halftime show and there wasn't something in the contract indicating that it would contain indecent contract, I'd sue to get my money back. I think AOL could make a credible case that Viacom's conduct was harmful to its reputation, especially since--being the title sponsor--AOL is so closely tied to the event.

Can anyone explain to me why putting content on the halftime show which, aside from the infamous nipple, is basically the same as what MTV shows 24/7, is somehow supposed to attract ratings? I would think those who want to see MTV would for the most part (aside from those with neither cable or satellite) be perfectly capable of selecting that channel.

I would think a marching band, cast-of-hundreds Rockettes-style stage spectacular, or some cross between the two could attract far more interested viewership than a rehash of the pop music dreck that is already so thoroughly available to anyone who wants it.
