Ditto your post.

Also, the History Channel did a show on how important it was for the national psyche for the people of Germany and Japan to have national trials in which innocent civilians could participate. It was a way to reconcile and get over the trauma of living under such murderous regimes.

They will drink champagne and lattes and lament the cruelty in the world while hiding in their well kept homes and academic fortresses.

You are so right. I call them, "Castle Communists".

Then they need to hit him on the move because security at BIA is tighter than Ft. Knox.

You should see what they are saying on DU. One nut was upset because some on DU were happy that Saddam was caught. He felt that the capture was a bad thing.

You can also be sure that behind closed doors the DNC is grinding its teeth.

NPR is conerned about Saddam's face being shown publicly and undecorously like that

After all, he was a leader and it is unseemly to be doing that.

This is from a professor of International Justice interviewed in a concerned and supportive way by an NPR flunkie.

So am I. I want the SOB to live and rat on the French and the UN.

Me too, but I just read an early account of early interrogation of him. And they said he's not talking much yet, as a matter of fact, they mentioned that he seems a little addled! Tough "hole" living, for "the ace in the hole."

My guess is that France and Germany have hit squads right now trying to find Saddam and kill him. --- no doubt about it. My God, if he talks what are the Dems. going to say?

I just got off the phone with a family member who gets all her news from the usual network leftist media sources. She was distraught over the death of Keiko the whale. I asked her what she thought of the big news of the day....the capture of Saddam. She told me that was no big deal and it did not mean anything.

I was amazed at that reaction, even from her. I asked what made her think his capture was not important. She said that his second in command (who's name she could not remember) now has all the money and he will just carry on the fight so catching Saddam is meaningless. Now I know she did not come up with that one on her own, so I must assume that is one of the ideas being pushed by the mainstream media. Marginalizing the significance of his capture will be important in the days ahead.

First thing I saw on ABC was Stephanopoulus saying how the Iraqi celebrations were so small.

And example of the vacuity was on ABC later where after Bush's speech the first thing they talked about was Bush's tone -- ie how he gave the speech rather than about the news itself.

They went on talking about it in terms of political nonsense.

Why do these "news" people forget they should first and foremost present information on the actual news event.

Of course many of them (DU - Chomskyites)) are unhappy---after all he is the leader of the "freedom fighters" who are fighting against the "invaders"

These are the same idiot goons that love Fidel and Mao and all the rest of the evil tyrants that Leftist ideology has spawned.

Regarding your comment that Lieberman "is the only dim I can stand..."

Why IS that? Possibly because he is the only democrat candidate who even PRETENDS that religion and God are a part of his life. Every other candidate: a) never mentions it, b) says he keeps that part of his life separate from politics, c) says he isn't religious, or even worse, d) mocks religion.

At least Joe has SOME sort of moral compass, paltry though it may be.

I was stuck running errands this morning with my 13 month old and all I had was NPR.

Their description of Saddam's capture sounding like a eulogy. They were obviously saddened. A few of the guests they had on were mildly upbeat.

I've read about the Great Debate before WWII and how once Pearl occurred that the Nazi sympathizers and isolationists STFU.

...not anymore...the enemy has breached the walls and it is....us.

Why do these "news" people forget they should first and foremost present information on the actual news event.

Probably because they think they're too smart to just report the news. They are compelled to analyze and comment on it, so that stupid, ignorant, uneducated people like us can begin to understand it.
