Capture of Saddam Shows True Evil of Liberal Media and Politicians
self | 12/14/03 | self

Posted on 12/14/2003 11:59:27 AM PST by thesummerwind

I was suggesting to another freeper earlier that - somebody ought to start a thread to compile all examples today of disgusting, evil liberal spinning on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, etc. It was disgusting from the very beginning of the news of the capture.

An example stated on NewsMax; "Time Magazine columnist Joe Klein suggested that another 9/11 attack could revitalize Democrat hopes of defeating Bush next November. "This election, more than any other I've covered, is out of the hands of the politicians and in the hands of the events that take place in the world," he noted. "All it would take, God forbid, would be one [domestic terrorist attack] - not even on the level of the World Trade Center. You know, say they take out an elementary school or a movie theater or a shopping mall. "That could change everything," Klein predicted.

Klein was almost outrightly asking for something awful to happen, just for the Democrats' benefit. Somebody start a thread where any freeper who witnessed this stuff, writes it down. It was pathetic!! It would make a very illuminating thread!

..........

So now, I decided to start it myself. I was up this morning even before I posted third on the first thread on the capture, "Saddam Hussein Captured." And since then, I have heard and seen numerous lefty reporters and politicians say the most disgusting things in order to diminish the troops' success, the possible success of the Administration, and, at the same time, to try to boost their evil intent.

Here is hoping that every freeper who witnessed an outrageous, nasty comment today, would please include it here. If we collect all their comments in one place, it may serve to clearly illustrate their real damaging desires, and their outright evil . Thanks for any help.

First thing I saw on ABC was Stephanopoulus saying how the Iraqi celebrations were so small.

One BBC TV report from a Baghdad correspondent had a lengthy treatment on the smallish size of the celebrations.

The correspondent (and followup commentary) explained that Iraq is like all other countries, and everyone was staying home glued to the TV, radio, and satellite news reports.

Stuffy probably thinks that normal Iraquis are without electricity and living like 9th century primitives (the foreign press is exempted, of course).

NPRHA Mission
To call attention to the improprieties in NPR reporting and to champion the removal of government funds from their operations.

About NPRHA
National Public Radio Hates America (NPRHA) is an organization dedicated to fair and unbiased journalism. In a public forum, Americans should be provided with all the facts on issues facing our nation. Our public radio (which operates in-part on government funding) should be a forum of credible journalism. National Public Radio (NPR) fails to operate within the guidelines presented above.

Our organization believes in free speech. The objection to NPR, however, is a derivative of their one-sided portrayal of events. Their practices hope to discredit American activities abroad by leaving out pertinent information that would allow their audience to draw their own conclusions. Instead, NPR attempts to manipulate the opinions of their audience. If NPR were a wholly private venture, NPRHA, would not exist. What makes this situation appalling, requiring the need for NPRHA, is the taxpayer dollars that are used to assist their efforts.

To combat this injustice, NPRHA will serve as the epicenter in the movement toward the elimination of government funding to NPR. Tax dollars paid by Americans must not be provided to an organization with the sole purpose of deceiving its audience to forward an anti-American agenda. We seek to empower Americans to exercise their voice in opposing this ongoing travesty in journalism.

NPR is conerned about Saddam's face being shown publicly and undecorously like that After all, he was a leader and it is unseemly to be doing that.

That's unbelievable. Aaron Brown said we took Saddam's dignity away from him by capturing him like we did.

He's just "a Dirtbag in a Dirthole".

I was watching NBC and CBS this morning and both networks were falling all over themselves to get away from Saddam's capture and, instead, discuss all the things that HAVEN'T been accomplished - particularly finding WMD and finding Osama. When America suffers setbacks, they will take all the time in the world to focus on the setback in vivid detail but when America makes progress, they can't get off the topic fast enough. Liberal media bias? What liberal media bias??

Saddam dead or alive or captured makes little difference soldiers choose their destiny and I have no pity for them..I have pity for the innocents they slaughter. This blind obedience to 'our boys' is dangerous from DUers and anybody else. They are trained to kill and the majority are just ruthless unthinking bastards who allow themselves to fall prey to man's darkest instincts. To continually preach about the plight of US soldiers just perpetuates the myth of US supremacy and is just saying that Iraqis are lesser human beings. Israeli fighter pilots have refused to engage any more in killing innocent Palestinians, Gi's have the same option. They don't have to be there but Iraqis have no choice . Put your sympathy with those that really deserve it. Any soldier has a moral right to lay down his arms and refuse to fight in an illegal war.But those that have willingly gone are just the will hand maidens of evil Bush and Co.

so are you advancing the argument that any criticism of the war shows disloyalty to our troops? I hope not because it certainly does not.

so I must assume that is one of the ideas being pushed by the mainstream media.

I heard it today!!! I forget the guy's name but I heardx that crap on NBC in the morning. I've seen so much media today it's hard to keep it all straight, but it all sucks.

Oh, and I can't help but notice that CBS-'60 Minutes', and ABC are advertising specials tonight on the capture. You can bet they're going to get their crap in those reports - don't want Americans seeing the capture for what it was!

In the 1930s, the "liberals" of the day thought Communism and National Socialism were wonderful, the wave of the future. Hitler and Stalin were their heroes.

Why do these "news" people forget they should first and foremost present information on the actual news event.

It sickens me. And another part of that sin is that 90% of the lamestream media are liberals.

.the enemy has breached the walls and it is....us.

Yes!!! You should have heard Andrea Mitchell, the old Greenspan darling. They pulled her out of her quiet slumber to report on the capture early in the morning. She sounded at times like she was talking about an old friend who had died. She went on and on.

It was so obvious that this great event shattered her, and that she was pulled out of liberal moth balls to spin, spin, spin. She's very competent, but what an old, brittle, liberal tool! She was making me sick.

The BBC is perpetrating a lie.

See http://projects.sipri.se/armstrade/Trnd_Ind_IRQ_Imps_73-02.pdf for the true story. Total in those 20 years we sold them some light helicopters that the military converted from civilian use. That's it. The Axis of Weasels and Soviet Union did the heavy lifting there.

Don't know if this article's been posted or not, but, according to the A.P., the U.S. military has been transformed into "Washington's beleaguered occupying force":

Grubby Saddam captured hiding in hole

By Joseph Logan

AD-DAWR, Iraq (Reuters) - U.S. troops have captured Saddam Hussein hiding in a hole near his home town of Tikrit in a major coup for Washington's beleaguered occupying force in Iraq....

>>>I posted this on another thread a few minutes ago - seem appropriate here.... <<<

....... I think this Axis of Euroweenies will bring as much pressure as they can to internationalize the prosecution of Saddam and the democratization of Iraq.

American lefties are already behind this minimizing of US influence in Iraq and will bring further pressure on Bush to share responsibility for the rebuild effort with the hapless UN.

The Euroweenies must control the trial so that their complicity in arming and backing Saddam is minimized. It's going to get very interesting.

Meanwhile - Dow up about 175 points tomorrow at a minimum.

Here we go again, way too many vanities.

There have been way too many vanities. We have asked numerous times to please limit your vanities to either the General Interest (Chat) forum or to post your one line vanities on an already existing thread. Guess what, didn't work. So, we will be deleting one line vanity threads, unless it is truly news as reported by a major media outlet. We will be deleting threads misposted to news that clearly belong in the General Interest (Chat) forum. Remember, this is a conservative news forum.

So, get ready, your vanity posts will be removed if you can not follow these simple guidelines.

Here's how to post an article in a forum other than the main news forum:

On the threads page (in any forum), on the right hand side, above the sidebars you will see a group of links that look something like this:

Campaign Central
General Interest (Chat)
News/Activism
Religion
RLC Liberty Caucus
The Smokey Backroom
VetsCoR

Select the appropriate forum prior to posting your article. In that forum, you can post your article the same way as the main news forum.

Again, any misposted articles will be pulled. If you like to see all the threads posted to Free Republic, John has made a Browse All option. All threads posted will be listed here and you will not miss out on any thread posted to Free Republic. And PLEASE use the actual titles that were given by the original author from that media source. It makes searching much more easier and prevents duplicates.

And as always, solicitations and fundraising from outside FR will not be allowed. Have a Merry Christmas.
