I'm sorry to have to report that one of our own Freepers, TrappedInLiberalHell, has passed away. His profile is HERE

I met Chris this past summer and found him to be a brilliant young man, who unfortunately carried around a lot of painful psychological troubles. He wrote few posts here, but was an active and clever noter, and a very sweet young man.

R.I.P., Chris van Loon

So very tragic. I recall the screen name...

My prayers for his family.

I'm sad to say that I did not know Chris but I do remember seeing his screen name and thinking it was great. I pray for his soul and for the hearts of his family members. This is so very sad. He was so young. This touches me even more because I have a son that turned 28 yesterday and he has been quite depressed lately. God bless Chris and his loved ones.

Sad indeed. I'll plant some German Johnson seedlings in his honor this spring. It will give me something to remember him.

Oh, I'm so very sorry to hear this sad news. Prayers going up immediately for Chris' family.

I still remember the Saturday morning that I was Freeping and laughed myself to tears over some of Chris' posts. Read them to Mr. Praririe who got a kick out of them too. Witty and funny, and he will be sorely missed.

Thank you for the post Eggs..

It is hard to know what completely goes on in mortal minds - the pain, overwhelming(seemingly) circumstances...

I feel we need to always be firm but also gentle in dealing with others on this forum. The strength of even the most annoying regulars is always an unknown. The most outspoken/annoying person may be crying deeply inside. Most of us can be pretty good actors/actresses. Personal attacks once read = ????

We need to never take for granted we will "find" our favorite or worse nightmare FReeper posters. Many just disappear. We are fortunate to have gotten the information.

My sincere condolences to Mrs & sister. Any death is difficult when they are loved ones. The age & circumstances make it tougher. May he be tending God's garden as he is in his fold.

Dear Lord, please receive this gentle soul into your loving embrace and comfort his loved ones left behind until they are once again reunited in your eternal kingdom.

You will be missed Chris...

Yes it is... it's very moving to see it.

Christmas will be so difficult for his family this year.

OMG. I can't stop crying over this. I am so sorry for his sister and his wife and family.

Such a nice young man who loved Tomato's and 40's music and Free Republic.

I wish we had known the pain he was in, and could have tried to help him thru it...but it's too late. Just damn.

Re contributions.. an excellent idea..

and here is another

perhaps a fund of some sorts with us contributing & when there is a death the appointed person could do the "honors"

This will be like lots of things in life.. a few , who are able, will donate we will all be there in spirit for the family.
