Bombshell: Kobe Accuser Had Sex with Key Witness
The Globe ^ | 11/20/03 | Globe

Posted on 11/21/2003 11:44:43 AM PST by Smogger

A new bombshell revelation in the Kobe Bryant case threatens to destroy the credibility of the prosecution’s key witness - whose testimony could send the basketball superstar to jail for years. Sources told GLOBE that the 19-year-old woman who has accused Bryant of rape told them she had sex with the prosecution’s star witness Bobby Pietrack - a week before she met Bryant.

Pietrack, a 23-year-old bellhop at the resort where the alleged rape took place, is the first person Katelyn Faber told about her encounter with Bryant. He can testify about her emotional state and physical appearance at the time.

But legal experts tell us that if there was a sexual encounter between Katelyn and the bellhop, it could wreck his credibility and sink the case of the Eagle County, Colo., prosecutor.

For all the details of this blockbuster story, pick up the new issue of GLOBE.

I just had a feeling early on in all this that this young woman and the bellhop had something going on, wasn't sure what, but this is not a surprise!

That was one judge's opinion.

Well, he was the judge that mattered; you don't get to judge shop.

Please quote any of my posts where I lean towards Kobe Bryant as being guilty.

The girl was examined. If she were menstruating it would have been noted. And there has been a hearing. The defense could have ASKED if that were a possible source if they thought they'd get an affirmative.

An example of 1) would be the woman who started the Tailhook scandal by alleging a gang rape took place. It turned out she had a fiance and had participated in an orgy and didn't want him to find out she was a whore.

I work with a guy who recently got married. When he was asked about whether he would have strippers or other female "entertainers" for his bachelor party, he said, "Hell no!" Why not? He learned from the mistake of a friend, who had the stereotypical Tom Hanks booze and bimbo fest. In the days afterward, one of the invitees/participants -- who had promised his wife that there wouldn't be any sex at the gathering -- had an attack of conscience, and tearfully spilled the beans to his missus about his activity at the party...as well as everyone else's.

The new marriage was put on life support when word got around, and died shortly thereafter.

If the woman who spouted false Tailhook allegations was lying to conceal her involvement in an orgy (I don't recall the details of the story, and they don't matter much when discussing Kobe anyway), that's easy to explain: There would be plenty of people who could say that she was a part of the action, and if any one of the participants said she was a willing sex partner, she would be toast in a variety of ways.

On the other hand, there was no one who witnessed the sex between Bryant and his accuser. If she made a choice to lie to her key witness about rape to cover up a consensual encounter with Bryant, she could have just said, "We were talking, and he was a perfect gentleman. Nothing happened, don't be silly," and no one could contradict her. Kobe, a notoriously secretive married superstar with a sparkling reputation, would never have walked into the lobby of the resort and said, "She's a great lay!"

Nice try.

"Well, he was the judge that mattered; you don't get to judge shop."

Insofar as the case proceeding to trial.

It will be completely different when the case is presented to 12 jurors who may or may not have ever stepped in a courtroom before.

And you are STILL mischaracterizing it; it plainly says "streaks,"

Gee, Howlin, I'm sorry. I said "smear" instead of "streak". I haven't had a chance to review the testimony but I fail to see how that "mischaracterizes" a damn thing.

I find it abhorant to take the attitude that a promiscuous woman cannot be a rape victim.

Your ALL missing the point. It's irrelavent if she was promiscuous. It's HIGHLY relavent if she was romantic with the prosecution's STAR WITNESS!

If this article is any indication of what's coming down the road, you can rest assured that's a fact.

And the lab said it was a transfer from another source.

So if it was her blood on his shirt, and it was transferred, then if she had sex with someone else earlier and had blood on her person or clothing, it could have been from the prior sexual encounter.

Sounds like she's not fussy about what she has on her clothes, or when she changes them.

"Please indicate the thread and announcement in which Jim Robinson relaxed the house rules."

My vague recollection is that it was the same thread which started off with a photo of Jim Robinson pinning on your chest the covetted 12-pointed gold shield of the House Poster Police.....

(apologies to JimRob)

That's an interesting point. I may have jumped the gun on this bellhop thing. But, it will still do some damage to the procecution.

"It's HIGHLY relavent if she was romantic with the prosecution's STAR WITNESS!"

She'll have to get on the stand and take an oath before God that it happened. How is it relevant?

Start here (Under DIRECT exam, not under cross).

I see the marks on the shirt are also called "excretions" and "stains".

How is it relevant?

It's relevant, because it gives her a reason to lie. It's not a slam dunk, however. See L.N. Smitheess's post.
