HI new member here, mad as hell after watching the video of the london protest. SO I am not going to mince words, I hope the President remembers that it was a MUSLIM, not a Christian that flew a plane into the twin towers.it is MUSLIMS, not Christians making homemade bombs and killing US troops in Iraq, It is MUSLIMS, not Christians who blow themselves up in Israeli schools and restaurants.

MY God is not their God.

I can forgive the President, but I am still PO'ed.

I have heard this from Episcopal clergymen but this means they do not serve the same God that I do. They serve some god or other.

There is either one God or zero Gods. Everyone who believes in God worships the same God. What they do as human beings doesn't change that fact.

I had just posted this on another thread:

When Bush says that the Saudis are our friends, is he being diplomatic or stupid? After certain Saudis were allowed to leave the US after 9/11, was he being diplomatic or stupid? When Bush says that Islam is the religion of peace, is he being diplomatic or stupid? I can never tell when Bush is being diplomatic or stupid.

Now I have to add one more question:

When Bush says that Christians and Muslims worship the same God, is he being diplomatic or stupid?

As a Christian and one whose faith tends toward Biblical literalism, I have no problem acknowledging that Muslims, Jews, and Christians worship the same God.
The worship of the same God is what makes Islam deceptive, dangerous, and demonic.
If - to take an extreme example - Mohammed had proclaimed that God descended from heaven and landed at the top of the great pyramid, from there He traveled Arabia to give the Koran to Mohammed, and fianlly He went to the top of Mount Sinai where He resides in glory, everyone whould consider the story a fantastic hoax.
But Mohammed made no such fantastic claim. He took the Jewish and Christian Scriptures and twisted them in such a way as to make his version sound plausible but to deny and negate the first coming of Messiah, which is the end toward which the Bible, especially the Old Testament, points.
Heresy is not the spinning of a fantastic yarn, but the twisting of the Truth ever so slightly - but fatally - so as to fool the unwary, the guilible, those unsatisfied with the Truth, or those of little faith.
If President Bush makes such statements, they reflect on the requirements of the Presidency, not on his personal faith.
Be glad George W. Bush is President.
If Bill Clinton were still in the White House, he would say nothing of God, reflecting a lack of belief in anything except Bill Clinton.
If Al Gore had been elected, you'd get such a convoluted descrition of a divinity that he/she/it would be unrecognizable by even the most learned theologians.

Let's see....it only matters what scripture/God says on this (or any) subject:

"By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ [Christ means Messiah, son of the living and true God] has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist...." I John 4

Yes, they do worship the same God... Just like the Klan worships the same God as decent, law-abiding Christians. You cannot judge a God based on the acts of a fringe element. I do believe that most Muslims are good and decent people who only wish to live in peace, work hard, and make a better life for their children.

Personally, I am sick of seeing the spewing hatred on this board. Learn to separate the extremists from those who only wish to lead a normal life.
