I was watching the Tony Blair and President Bush press conference and an American reporter asked a question on the lines of do you believe Muslims and Christians worship the same God.

President Bush said that Christians and Muslims worship the same God!!!!

Again, how so? Neither Koran nor Bible demonstrate the existence of any God in my opinion. So which one do I go with and why?

Have you read the Bible and the Koran? If not, you need to do so. Then I'll be happy to reply to specific follow up questions. Finding truth does take effort, especially on a topic as deep as God.

Now you are switching the subject. The question is not whether Bible or Koran can "demonstrate the existence of any God" to a skeptic, but if content of Koran is in sufficient agreement with the Bible to consider God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as God of Muhammad.

LOL, I have my own recipe already and it doesn't include a deity- although it acknowledges that there could be something that would qualify as a deity. I was just remarking that for the non-believer it is hard to tell which side to choose between all the religions. In a way, it seems to me people would get along a lot better if they all thought they were worshiping the same deity- just in different ways- than fighting over who's deity was real and who's not.

They are various sects and cults which "see Jesus as another prophet". This does not mean that they actually incorporate the New Testment. New Testament and Koran are quite apart.

How so? If neither document demonstrates a deity in the first place, why should I use either document as a proof of anything regarding this matter? I mean, in the big scheme of things it's a moot point. No deity demonstrated in the Bible. No deity demonstrated in the Koran. Useless to argue which deity is real and which not (or whether they're both the same) when neither have been demonstrated in the first place.

Like I say, if you deny the God of Christians is not the God of Islam then the God of Christians can't be the God of the Jews, and the God of Catholics can't be the God of the baptists and the god of the Baptists can't be the God of the methodists and the god of the methodists can't be the God of the Mormons.

I assume you have never read it then. The Bible talks about God. It does not prove God because you cannot prove God to someone who doesn't wish to see Him.

Mr. Bush is no theologian. It's quite obvious to anyone who knows logic that the two versions of God contradict one another. Both cannot possibly be true at the same time.

I suppose I would have used Scripture: "God...has made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth.." (Acts 17:26) and there are a lot of different views of views of who He is.
