Senate Charade (More Baltimore Sun Lies)

AH, THE COTS paraded through the Capitol, the exhaustion-cracked voices, the Mr. Smith Goes to Washington self-righteousness. It was the Republicans' all-nighter protest of Democrats blocking judicial nominees; it might have been more credible, though, if they forced Democrats to do the talking.
When senators want to break a filibuster, they make the filibusterers talk till they drop. That's what happened to Jimmy Stewart in the movie, a copy of which was carried around for inspiration by an aide to Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.
But during this round-the-clocker, Democrats had to beg to get a word in edgewise as Republicans staged a taxpayer-financed appeal to the GOP's conservative base.

But the extra time and money spent on this Republican charade -- including an estimated $70,000 in overtime pay for Capitol police -- would be easier to defend if the Republicans had at least tried to overcome Democratic obstructionists. This is, indeed, a form of lie, for two reasons. One, because the Sun's editorial writer is perfectly aware, like the GOP Senators were, that any effort to "overcome Democratic obstructionists" on an actual cloture vote would have been futile. Two, because there IS going to be an effort, Friday (today), to get floor votes for three or more thus-far-filibustered judges.

Each of these Democratic representatives must be sued for discriminating against Catholics.
Not doing this is to accept the discriminatory terms imposed by the Democrats.
Schumer should have been run out of office already for some of the anti-Catholic comments he has made.

I'm glad you posted this, so the whole world can see how the Sun editors lie.
Thanks.

Ah, the inimatable
Baltimore Sun. Glad I cancelled my subscription a few weeks ago.
Here's a tip for Sun readers: whatever you read in the BS, assume the opposite is true - even the weather.

Schumer has been a politician all of his adult life. It's hard to imagine what type of work he would be suited for.
I guess he could get a job in Hollywood. He's a natural ham. He has one of the the most rubbery faces on the Senate floor.

"Schumer should have been run out of office already for some of the anti-Catholic comments he has made."
Chuckie Schumerde, aka Senator Putz, aka Chuck the Schmuck, is a racist and a bigot. The Putz would be right at home under a sheet, or as a member of the ruling elite in the Third Reich.
The Schmuck is proof the democrat politicians are not interested in minority groups, except in how they can exploit them for furthering their (the demwits) own political power. Talk about sanctimonious, self-serving, hypocricy!

The Baltimore Sun, the New York Times, LA Times, and other newspapers are the inspiration for the following story:
The man needed to sell an unwanted item. He proceeded to the local newspaper to place a classified ad. He walked in the door, and saw an acquaintance working at one of the desks.
He exclaimed, "Mike, I didn't know you worked here!"
Mike looks at him, placed his finger to his lips, and said, "Shh! Don't tell anyone, my mother thinks I work as a bouncer at a whorehouse."

I never liked the Sun. Not because they are liberal, I just didn't like the styling or something.. rubbed me the wrong way.

If the Republicans don't go nuclear and proceed with a change of Senate rules, then it all WAS a charade.

I e-mailed a Letter to the Editor to the Sun and an hour later I received a phone call, verifying that I had written it. The caller said "We hope to get it into the paper".
They've said that before and only about 1 in 2 have made it.

I really believe that that is the most effective move that a person can take to fight liberalism. Have you estimated the direct and indirect (advertising) value that you have now denied the liberals?
