Clinton: United States must work harder at making friends

Former U.S. President Bill Clinton said on Wednesday the U.S. needs to work harder at making friends so it will have fewer enemies.

"In a world where we can't possibly occupy or jail or defeat every person that might wish us ill, we need to work harder to make a world with more partners and fewer terrorists," said Clinton, speaking at the groundbreaking of a new world headquarters for aid group Heifer Project International.

His successor, President Bush has launched a global "war on terrorism" since the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on New York and Washington that have included invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Clinton said greater humanitarian cooperation would make the world safer because the use of force could not curb all anti-U.S. sentiment.

The Heifer Project, founded 60 years ago in Iowa but now located in the Arkansas capital, distributes farm animals, fish and poultry to the poor in the United States and 47 other countries.

It requires recipients of its aid to give the first offspring of the donated animal to another family in poverty, who repeat the process.

The new headquarters, which will include a mock global village, is within walking distance of Clinton's presidential library, now under construction in Little Rock.

If Clinton was so successful in making friends out of the terrorists, why were we attacked on 9-11-2001, after Clinton spent 8 years making friends with the terrorists?

Someone needs to remind Clinton that 911 was being planned while he was still President. Helping Bosnian Muslims did not seem to do us any good. In fact, it got the Russians mad at us.

This simpleton is on of the reasons we got 9/11.

Oh, I guess it's our fault that we didn't make enough friends, so we got 9/11 as a result?

I shouldn't be this way, but I have hated this man since 1992. How dare he suggest that it's our fault for 9/11/01?

This is a nonsensical assessment which begs the question: if you have the answers,Mr. Sinkmaster, why the hell didn't you make all the friends the US needed in the eight years you were in power.

This lying, two-faced, law breaking, perjuring, rapist traitor SOB has a lot to answer for. He needs to STFU.

I apologize for the outburst. This man belongs in an orange jumpsuit in Ft. Leavenworth. I wish we never had to hear his crap again.

Clinton is WRONG, again!

We simply need to destroy more of our enemies.
Clinton spent to much time taking their money or kissing their asses.

We don't need no stinkin friends, especially not the likes of our former allies. Just because they are intent on flushing themselves down the toilette bowl, I see no reason to follow them in honor of some one sided friendship.
