First, please don't forget to vote today. I doubt I have to remind anyone here that.
Secondly, what's the turnout in your area?
Lastly, Go Posthumus, Blanchard, both Dingells, Ficano, Jonathon Grant(over RINO Stewart), Alan Cropsey, Allen Lowe, Steve Vear, Dale Shugars(over RINO Upton), Michelle McManus, and Bob Gosselin.

GOP
The two major GOP races are Posthumus vs Schwarz and Upton vs Shugars. Posthumus is favored to crush Schwarz. Upton is favored over Shugars, but Shugars could pull an upset. Upton is a RINO. Dems - AG Jenny Granholm vs Former Gov Jim Blanchard vs David Bonior. This race is down to the wire. Granholm is favored but there are a lot of cross votes to Blanchard and Bonior that could affect this. I'm voting for Blanchard to stop Granholm. Anyone but Jenny.
Rivers vs Dingell - Down to the wire. Go Dingell.

How are the local pundits prognosticating the impact of turnout? In theory, would a high turnout help or hinder the "good guys" here?

Depends on region. I want Detroit to turn out. They don't care for Granholm that much of the three.

I voted for Blanchard. I was number 108 at 12:30.

Come on Dan. Don't be shy. Gives us your predictions. I lack imagination, so I pick Granholm and Dingell both winning easily (by more than 10%).

i vote for bonior, and my parents all voted for bonior. I feel he would be the easiest to beat. But i still feel Dick can beat granholm. voter turnout is high here, in Jackson. Many republicans here, but a lot of came out to vote for blanchard or bonior.

I voted on the Democratic side of the ballot since the only contested Republican races in my precinct were for governor and state representative. I voted for Blanchard and made write-in votes for the other races.
Turnout was pretty light when I arrived at the polls around 5:15 today. There were maybe two other voters beside me while I was there.

The Detroit Free Press
http://www.freep.com reports Dingell won as did Granholm. But they show early numbers at the moment.

With 70% of the precincts reporting, what we have here is a total unexpected blowout:
John Dingell (D) 41,238 64%
Lynn Nancy Rivers (D) 23,660 36%

Dingell will romp to an easy victory. He and Zell Miller of GA are the only two Dems worth a RAT's A$$!

"what we have here is a total unexpected blowout:"Unexpected? Nah. His opposition specifically went after him for his pro-gun stance and relationship with the NRA. These days most folks realize the value of a gun in the house and there are a LOT more "closet gunowners" among the ranks of democrats. I know I have taught many of them here in south Florida to shoot and for their CCW permits. And they always plead with me not to tell anybody they have a gun.
This is not for the sake of security. They're ashamed to be a liberal and own a gun. But they are also mostly realists who love their families and want to keep them safe.
In Michigan, in the privacy of a voting booth, folks just voted "Freedom First."
