The states that will decide the 2020 election oppose impeaching President Trump

By a plurality of 48 to 44%, according to the latest poll averages, Americans favor impeaching President Trump and removing him from office. But, as we know, presidential elections are made in the electoral college on a state-by-state basis and senators are elected in this manner as well, which is why it is important to look at public opinion by state.

According to a just-released New York Times/Siena College poll, sentiment in the swing states that will determine the winner of the 2020 presidential election differs from the national averages. Like other Americans, voters in these states support an impeachment inquiry. But by a margin of 52 to 44%, they oppose impeachment and removal. Supermajorities of pro-impeachment voters in coastal states may swell the national numbers, but analysts and party operatives should look elsewhere to determine the politically-relevant level of support for the Democrats’ impeachment drive.

Let’s begin with the bottom line in six key states.

They were always going to impeach Trump anyway if they had the House by a single vote. Their rabid base demands it. Postmodernism is a cult.

I don’t know how these polls are of any use, honestly. How do you square that people would support an impeachment inquiry but not removal from office? Is it just that the word inquiry sounds innocuous enough that people say “sure, why not”?

Either way, I’m looking forward to this moving over to the Senate where we can call our own witnesses like Hussein, Plugs, Plugs Jr, the soy boy fake whistleblower, etc and can expose this sham on national TV.

If this was not a partisan witch hunt, it might play better in flyover country. Too bad the elitists would never lower themselves to talking with normal Americans - that means they have no idea what real Americans think.

Hopefully justice is done and we keep the senate, gain back the house with solid conservative voices, and see the best President since G. Washington re-elected.

Then we can have a nice couple of years, hopefully many more, of sanity in DC. Well; as sane as DC can possibly be when dems are involved in anything.

Polls are wrong because there are many silent Trump voters who do not respond to polls.

They’ve spent five years calling Trump “Hitler” and anyone who supports (or even just doesn’t denounce him) “Nazis.” How many people are answering pollsters honestly given these framings?

Media echo chamber. Some of those polls were outrageously skewed to get that result.

Don't buy the premise.
